i used to do this, until i figured out that by tucking the bottom of my sheet under the mattress i can make my bed in about 13 seconds.

Yup. I use dual heaters that have thermostats. Just turn it up in the winter and down in the summer.

How do you drain it if you move?

Um, I can make mine in about 13 seconds as well. It's called flip and you're done. Then, just check the corners, and throw the throws on over the comforter. Pretty damn easy, and I'm not a tucker.

It is on a traditional platform so I just run a hos out the door any syphon...

I had ten moves my first ten years after college so I got pretty expereinced at it.

I still am on the original 1978 mattress. It is a semi-waveless so it moves when I move but it stops really quick when I stop moving.

It is a California King (big) and it isn't pretty (tacky looking traditional pi9ne headboard), but I like having shelves for books, eyeglasses, alarm clock, tissues, and whatever. It is especially nice if I am sick because I have plenty of room for soup cups and drinks... Never have to worry about bedbugs and transporting is easier because the pieces all come apart so the fit more easily in a vehicle that a box spring and mattress.

I have had a couple of leaks over the years and just re-did a patch I installed back when I was in college (more than 25 years ago). Bottom line is if the mattress works for your body a waterbed is a very cost effective solution.

I slept on a waterbed for 20 years, it wasn't until I got married that I slept on a regular matress. It took some getting used to. My room was always the furthest from the heater/A/C so I used the heater in the bed to regulate the room temperature.

I loved the bed, and it's true...there is more motion in the ocean.

Got my waterbed new in 2002. Getting bed sheets for it is a BITCH. You can set softness by adding or removing water. Only bad part when moving is sucking the water to start the syphon. omfg that water is nasty. Must be the conditioner you put in it. Only one leak thus far though. No biggie.

Plus, I have a waterbed WITH a luxury pillow top on it. There is no bed on heaven or earth as soft as what I sleep on. I sink at least 8 inches into my bed easy.

I prefer the sheet tucked under the mattress corner, rather than my feet. Rolling over twists the sheet all around you Irocs way. I don't care for waterbeds either. I have a CalKing sleigh in wood with headboard, footboard, and rails. Stearns and Foster mattress. Fucking great.
