Just for hell of it, I wonder what Busta Rhymes IQ is??? They say profanity is a substitute for a limited vocabulary. That being said, Busta Rhymes just scored one point higher than a retarded person.

"Thats the news music bitches, Aight? Just for the record, we out here in South Beach, Miami, You know what I mean? Got the little mansion and shit. Nigguz ran in the mansion. You know what I mean? Throwin a little Mother F*uckin' barbecue function. For my birthday jumpoff and things of that nature, such and such, so on and so forth, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. You know what i'm saying? And in the process of the social activity that was coming together, you know? Mother F*ckers was gathering and you know, sh*t was just no word on the street. Was the function and festivities that was taking place over here, was spectacular. Mother F*ckin out of control and fantastic and everybody was in a rush and a race. And a mother f*ckin relay to get over here. And to see what was really poppin off. And in the process, you know what I'm saying? Right across the street, we got the mother f*ckin landscape that was purchased by my man scott starch. The notorious producer, right now thats got sh*t on the street........................."

The illogical reaction to the word in modern America, IMO, is in part due to white guilt.
Its upsetting but even more it comes down to trust.
I will say the American Indians were taken advantage of a great deal. I would not say more because blacks were forced to come here to be taken advantage of.
Enslavement > genocide
So you are like a dog who gets his bone, goes in his cage a is satisfied.
Thats fine. You settle when others want improvement and fairness.
You assume that the only reason you are not living in a worse condition than what you stated is because the white Europeans basically cleaned your ancestors up?
I hope that that is not what you meant. If you did mean that. That means you have low expectations of yourself.
I, as well as most blacks would rather be "here" than "there"Last edited by jking; 04-17-2006 at 05:20 AM.

You have know idea huh??!! Whose comprehension is screwed up know?
Of course black people are not upset about it anymore. The past is the past. But it can never be forgotten.
It is more than racism.....its more of a trust issue.
And what are you saying about blacks 100s of years ago. They were killed in numbers too.
So if you want to count not living here and then being forced to come here to be enslaved or killed. Well I'd say they had it worse.
American Indians had it bad to now. But at least if they escaped they knew the land. Blacks did not. Where could they run to until a hundred years later or so.
Read "Bury my heart at wounded knee". Awesome book.
White guilt?????!!! No, I understand completely.
So you are saying that if white-European culture never existed that the American Indians would never have advanced?
Again that is negative thinking.Last edited by odinsonthor; 04-17-2006 at 07:08 AM.

So people have never seen someone who is drunk at a bbq?
Who's vocab or speech is excellent after an afternoon drinking.
Everyone is talking about intelligence and whatnot. If i am at my house at a bbq and drinking, then am pulled out into the street becuase my friend's house was hit by a ferrari, then i am drunk and in the street instead of in my house. Logic people.
It is only becuase he is famous thats even such a big deal.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a regular user of the word, it's just that the reaction to it defies common sense. It's the only word in the entire English language that people elect to use the first letter-word (N-word), instead of the actual word.
When you use "n-word", everyone automatically knows exactly what you mean, so what is the point of not using it?
I suspect it came about because of white guilt and blacks wanting to use it as a point of contention.
You responded with-
The word never came about because of white guilt.
It was used to degrade blacks. I'm sure the whites in that era had no guilt over what they were doing.
I try to clarify and correct you here-
I forgot about you and your reading comprehension..
The illogical reaction to the word in modern America, IMO, is in part due to white guilt.

Yes, I wrote that, but that is a totally different statment than the one you originally quoted, and the one we are talking about.
For whatever reason, you always totally lose track of these discussions..
But yeah, I would agree that the past is the past, and that most blacks couldn't give a shit. Some high profile blacks like to press the issue hoping to get something out of it, like repreations, or they may use it as a rallying point in the black community, but there is really no good reason to dig up that horrible chapter of our history.

The problem is that impressionable kids see him acting like that and they think that in order to be successful, they don't need to know how to speak or dress, they can just act like that. Then they wonder why they wind up flipping burgers or doing laundry in prison.
Nobody can be forced to be a role model, and it's not my place to suggest that Buster carry himself in a manner that would be a positive influence on his young fans.
But I would suggest that one of the biggest problems in the black community is lack of role models.
I put a lot of the blame on the media in general. MTV and the like pretty much determine "cool" in this country, and these are the type of folks they put on a pedestal to be worshiped by impressionable kids.

To me it is commonplace and I don't react after 7 years of being out there, but trust me when I tell you it happens more than you might think. Again this is in a big city and in a hardcore neighborhood, so different places are subject to different types of people.

Everyone look out Odin has come into the thread to tell us white people how ignorant and immature we are. This coming from a guy who uses homosexual hate terms like "fag" or "queer" to degrade someone....we should all learn tolerence from someone like him.
He also will tell you of the when he was younger in chicago when some white kid answered a question before he could in class and this is wy he has this giant chip on his shoulder. Ask him how the biggest slave owners were blacks, or who captured black slaves for us in africa....or what nation still uses its own people as slaves....he wont answer he likes to change the subject.
Debating with him is like trying to have a monkey not swing from a tree.
