Took intake manifold off, I think I broke sonthin
Im in the process of doing heads and cam in car and when I tool the intake manifold off last night I noticed this plastic cylinder right behind it that looked like it broke off what it was connected to. I was careful taking it out so I dont know If its broke or if it just doesn't sit in what I think it does. I can post pics when I get home from work if you guys dont know what im talking about.

Sounds like you broke the oil pressure sending unit. Its very common when removing the intake.

Sounds like the oil pressure sensor, happens all the time. Make sure you get one for a '98, the '99-'02 are different.

MAKE SURE to install ARP ROD BOLTS!!!!!!! AND make sure you update your lifters to the LS7's or what GM calls their new STANDARD LS lifters.
This will ensure you don't waste your investment due to insufficient STOCK parts. Trust me, I have a 98' LS1 like you and they need these KEY changes to bulletproof the project. I just went through an install earlier in the year where I researched our year model (98) to make sure nothing was left to question. The Rod bolts in our vehicles become a liablity............the later LS1's (01-02) were stronger and could safely support your mod list........
