Floppy Shifter
I bought a new car yesterday with a 5-Speed. I drove manuals before, but never owned one of my own (Yay!). To me the shifter feels floppy, like when in gear it feels as if it's in Neutral. It drives and runs find, goes through gears well. Just the shifter it's self feels loose. My guess it's just wear and tear on the shift it's self? If I replace it, will the problem be fixed? To my understanding there's plastic bushings in the shifter the can be worn down and describes what I feel.

Doubt it since you have a T5 iirc. Though I would imagine there's a cup where the end of the shifter goes into the trans that could be beat or missing or your shifter is beat to shit for it being driven like a stang by some dumb kid

I agree with GTP get a Pro 5.0 or MGW, it's well worth the money. Do a PI swap as well if you bought what I think you bought

I ordered a Pro 5.0, should do the trick... I picked the car up for $1,000 from an middle age male. But it has high miles (147,xxx), some rust under the car, and A/C does not work. But it runs and drives well, fun daily driver for sure.

Why don't you consider a PI intake/head/cam swap? It's not expensive to do at all, and the gains from the swap are decent.

With that, headers, slicks, flux capacitor, and a tailwind you'll break 13's!!! Worth the time and effort in an alternate dimension
