Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6
They booted Kevin and he turned to the INTERNET and made a huge deal out of the entire situation. This time im thinking they figured to keep from embarrassing the teen aka themselves they would boot the adult and sit the teen. Imo once they sat the adult her standby status was no longer a factor. They should have charged the teen for a second seat just like any other person. Obviously she had someone buy the ticket for her so contact them and tell them whats going on. It wasn't the ladies fault some double wide couldn't learn to put down the donuts and get off the couch.

Personally, fuck the skinny woman. There is a reason she wants to remain anonymous. The skinny woman was on as a "Standby passenger" anyways, so she really was not entitled to that seat. IIRC, she got on the very next flight within the next hour and was given a refund. What fucking more do she want?
The airlines did what they did probably because it was the right thing to do.
The teen couldn't pay for an extra seat because she was alone!! and she was being picked up at the flights destination. If she was with her family, then that would have been a different issue. Imagine if that was your kid. You all would be fucking pissed if your kid travelling alone was booted from a plane due to their weight, stranded somewhere and forced to pay for another seat. You do not strand a kid somewhere regardless of their weight.
Also if you push that issue, you now embarrass the kid because of their weight in front of people? Maybe the kid has a medical issue, who knows. Yeah great idea. I am not going into the semantics of why the kid is overweight. IMO, Kids shouldn't be overweight unless there is a medical reason, but that is not the argument.
Then again, maybe because of Kevin Smith is why they allowed it this time, who knows. They were in a lose-lose situation and they did the right thing by not causing a 14 year old child who is alone to be stranded. So they removed the standby passenger from the plane because that is the right thing to do.
Fuck that skinny woman because she should be ashamed of herself and it is obvious she is not a parent.Last edited by 98Hardtop; 07-29-2010 at 07:59 AM.

The skinny chick hasn't really said a thing. So it's not about her attitude or whether she needs to fuck off. It's just about inconsistent airline policy enforcement.
But you're probably right, after the bad pr they got off the Kevin Smith incident, and because of this kid's age, they likely decided to go the other way this time. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

The skinny woman is the one who complained about it and reported it after she was put on the next flight within the hour and given a full refund. She is choosing to remain anonymous and I wonder why.
The right thing to do is ask for volunteers, but the issue is the kid showed up at the last minute, traveling alone and now they risk embarrassing the child, or delaying the plane.
Another thing being I have flown numerous times. Standby is just that and subject to the airlines discretion. Usually for those people who try to get on an earlier flight than what they booked for
or maybe she missed her intended flight. So yeah, lets accommodate her and fuck over a kid who is alone. It is a kid! Either way she seems like she would have complained even if she stayed in the seat and the child sat there too. That is why I mean fuck the lady.Last edited by 98Hardtop; 07-29-2010 at 08:21 AM.

You do realize, when the incident came up. It wasn't like the flight attentendant told the pilot, and the pilot called corporate. Then they had a board meeting with top exec's and a pr representative to come to a conclusion. This all happened very fast within 5 minutes or less I would assume. A decision was made, they didn't really have the time to think everything through and disect it like you guys are. Cut the airline some slack.
