I remember two years ago, I saw a sale on eBay for a GNX with 40k on the odometer. The pic was a garage with the GNX outside and another in the garage partially under a cover. I dunno if he was doing something to the partially covered one, or if he just was showing off that he had two(@$$). But the auction started at $42k for the car.

Pfff, call me crazy, but if I had the oppurtunity to choose from either an 89 Turbo T/A or a 350 TPI IROC-Z, I would take the IROC-Z in a heartbeat. Something about that car I just love, don't know what it is.
I had a childhood freind who moved out of my neighborhood a few years back who's father had a White 86' IROC-Z, car was a 5 speed, and to this day I still wonder which motor it had, all he would say was "It has a Z06 motor" but then when you would look at the engine bay, it looked like the 305?? Said "Tuned Port Injection" right on that piece in front of the intake manifold.
The guy was super shady about it, but the car had a BIG ASS turbo and made like....if I remember correctly it made 6xxrwhp, it was one of the sickest cars I've seen to date, had 3 (3.5" I believe?) Flowmaster exhaust tips coming out of the center of the bumper (he cut a slot in the middle of his bumper so he could run the exhaust straight out the center of the bumper) it was ridiculously sweet.
F-Body central in Baltimore built it for him, he still has it to this day according to my freind, I'll have to ask if he can send some updated pics of it.

5 speed came with the 305 TBI and the auto came with the 350 TPI from what I have been told. The IROCs were clean. No gawdy graphics or bodykit. Just a subtle kit, wheels and spoiler.

I don't know, I believe the 305 TPI was avaliable after 85', and holy shit don't quote on that because I'm probably very, very wrong. I'm just speaking on what I've read in this Camaro/Firebird book I had like 5-6 years ago.
And I agree 100%, the IROC's were so freakin' clean. The best looking Camaro to date other than the LT1 SS's IMO.
