Navy Blue Metalliac- 1999 Z28 Camaro
A.I.r. Bypass
Is there a way to make the computer think the air pump is running. Mine started wining real bad like a bad fuel pump and I unplugged the air pump and now I'm throwing codes and the rear oxygen sensors are not on according g to the code on the reader at auto zone. When I plug the pump back up and drive it it wines real bad but the codes go away.
Thanks in advance!!

A tune can prevent the codes from popping.

Yeah I knew about the tune but I have alot more to do to the car before I tune it and don't really wanna pay twice for a tune. Was hoping there was something I could do that was temp.

Try just removing the AIR PUMP fuse under the hood - thinking it'll just throw P0412?

I don't believe there is any way to prevent it from throwing a code unless you have it tuned out.

Pulling the fuse and/or relay will not prevent the code from triggering the SES. You have to go in and manually override a couple of DTC's in the tune so that they do not set the light.

Send your PCM to Frost and for about $125 your problem is solved, plus he'll add in a bunch of other little performance oriented modifications to your computer. You can't go wrong there plus you'll be able to enjoy your car until your ready to really start modifying.

So say if send it to frost. What can I expect from a bone stock car. Will there be hp gain or mpg gain. I've never had a car tuned so I don't know what to expect.
