RPM's Guage does not Register - HELP!!

So I had to replace the knock sensors in my 2000 WS6 Trans Am. In the process I broke the OSU so I had to replace that as well. Got the car put back together, started it up (backfired a couple times before it started) and on the guage the RPM guage does not register and the Oil Pressure Guage is pegged.

The OSU unit I installed was a BWD Part number S4184 from Oreily Auto Parts.

Could use some suggestions from the pros out there.

Where does the RPM guage get its reading from? I am pretty sure I hooked everything back up.

Should I have gone with a different OSU manufacture?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Is there anyway that a sensor could have been put on backwards and is canceling out the OSU and Camshaft sensor. When I put them all in they all snapped and locked.

I can't help you, with your problem, but FYI the proper name for that gauge is "tachometer".

Found problem...Cam sensor was unplugged (oops) however I was going to have to take the intake out again because the OSU plug wire was broke. It must have broke when I pushed it on. Can't see anything behind there and it was attached to wire when I went to plug it in. Old wire I guess. Anyways once I get a new pigtail all should be good again, just in time to race.
