Question Dyno Tuner in Seattle Area????

I have had using a Dyno Tuner recommended several times, however I dont know of one where I live, there probably is but I cant seem to find it.

I live in the Seattle area but anywhere within 100 or so miles would work fine.

It sounds like a good idea but there has to be a Tuning shop to do it!

    Thanks In Advance.

    A long drive but..

Well that is not too close, but what does he charge for his services?

I am recovering from my initial purchase and saving up for the few modifications I have planned, but I would prefer to have it tuned at a dyno shop than try doing so via mail.

I am still researching the options for intake, exhaust, traction aids and possible gear ratio changes. Obviously I will want to get those done before the tune. Many people have suggested high rpm stall converters but I am not hot on that idea. It is my daily driver and with 30K on the odometer I am hoping not to have any expensive repairs anytime soon.

There are lots of companies making parts out there so it will take a little time and money for me to figure out which are the best, able to be reversed in case I ever sell it, and of course pay for them.

he did mine for $150(he had to pay for the definiton first time) but it was just a basic tune as i wanted the rear o2's deleted, he did some tweaking and tuned it for good gas, my car is pretty much stock but he tuned it so it pretty much covers any bolt ons i was planning on ie intake, exhaust.
I dont know what youve got in your car but hes been tuning for a number of years and i saw him dyno tuning a twin turbo vette after he did mine. He doesnt have a shop so you would have to pay for dyno time too. Im sure there is someone down there that does it . Check around, i know there is another lsx site that is mostly pacific northwest guys but i havent been around for a few years so i couldnt tell ya, maybe do some searchin. I can pm you this guys number if you are interested in getting something setup here.

    Its probably a bit far

I appreciate it but that is pretty far.

I have to pass emissions so that is one thing I have to consider with mods.
Right now it is a stock black 98 WS6 with 30,000 miles on it so I also want those mods to be able to be undone should I go to sell it in the future.

I am looking to add a few performance mods and tune it to exploit them.

Not really lofty goals, just have it do the 1/4 mile in the 12's. There are places like Frost's site here that can reprogram a chip but somewhere with a dyno after the mods are in place are always going to yield the best results, they have the dyno right there to see how the programming is affecting power.

Years ago I installed a Hypertec chip in to my Corvette and was totally disappointed. I wont go that route again.

Aside from the fact that the emissions requirements here mean that all emissions equipment on the car have to be functioning properly if one does mods to a car the resale value goes down. So the few things I do will have to jive with both stock emissions as well as the ability to put it back stock if I am going to ever sell it.

Since my performance goals are pretty reasonable I can get away with this.

It is a happy medium for me, it is my daily driver and there are always faster cars on the street no matter what you have. I dont take it to the track so that is of no significance to me either. It is just to satisfy my personal performance desires and to be a great bang for the buck. There are not loads of stock cars out there running 12's and if they are they most likely did not cost 10 grand for a 30K mile mint condition car. It is not a drag car and I like the new Goodyear F1 GSD3 tires that came with it. It is to be a performance street car.

I will have to do more searching, there has to be a place somewhere around here I just have not found it yet. I only know of one place that does this for motorcycles.

My street bike does 10.0 second 1/4 miles so that is what I use for my thrills and adrenaline rushes.

When I was looking to purchase one of these cars the ones that I saw for sale in Canada seemed to be priced higher than cars down here, not sure why.

I will start asking places that sell performance parts around here, even if they dont have that service they are likely a good source to find someone that does. I was just hoping someone would have used a place and had reviews of them. Texas and California seem to have more of these sort of places than the Seattle area. I dont think they realize that there are not as many places in this area or I would not be asking.

    Good luck with you car.
