Out here in NC in a beach house and man, NC is the best place ever, I just love it to death, I'm just about ready to get an apartment out here and move out of my parents house. Everything is sooooo wide open, highways are amazing, ridiculously good BBQ places, and the people down here have awesome attitudes. So much better than D.C., it's like nothing i've ever seen before. Again, I love it, you southerners have it really good out here.

A couple of places to check out: Duck Deli and Awful Arthur's - good eats at both. We stay about 20 miles north of Nag's Head -- up by Corolla. You can go to Bodie Island Lighthouse, but it is closed to climbing. The Corolla Lighthouse is spectacular if you are into stuff like that and it is open to climb. You also have the Nag's Head fishing pier which is neat to hang out on for a while.

Carolina bbq sauce is mustard based. Kansas City bbq sauce is tomato sauce based. Kansas City style is the #1 prefered bbq sauce in USA. It's better.

Yeah man. Every now and then I mention how good it is to you northerners. I know you guys hate the heat (I personally love it), but even if I hated it too I would still probably choose to live in da souf rather than up north.

Yea, it is DAMN nice down here, the Highways are toooooo nice, so wide open and straight and pratically no traffic, the speed limit on a lot of the freeways down here is like 70!! It's awesome.

And for some reason it was a lot hotter up in D.C. than it is down here. Maybe because we're by the ocean.

You can also head down to Manteo and check out Big Al's (more good food) and the North Carolina Aquarium. I have never made it as far south as Hatteras yet... maybe next time.

The university I attended before the one I'm at currently was about triple the distance away from home, and although all the highways in the south are pretty much as you described, a 2 hour length of road during the drive to my old college was an even moreso magnified version of that, over a hundred miles of mostly straight road with a 70mph limit and hardly anyone else on the road as it's in the middle of nowhere. That was when the Camaro was running too. Just me, my radar detector, and some tunes. Good times.
