I have 2 XD-40's. One subcompact and one full size. They are great weapons. That's a good price too!

yea the one i have coming is a sub compact....ive had a little experience with a compact 45 and liked it.
i got that price because i went with the "essentials" package instead of the standard XD gear....its just a gun, case, and the two mags....none of the other BS

Subcompacts are fun to shoot and great for carry too. I kinda like large frames for carrying but I don't mind people knowing that I'm carrying in most situations. For those other times and in my vehicles or on the bike...they're great little guns. I shot mine today, it's a little snappy but very accurate. I couldn't be more pleased. I've shot a lot of weapons and for the money XD's are one of my favorites.
Still not a bad price. I've seen that essentials kit sell for 400 bucks. Good luck with you new purchase!

no gun is technically "registered" serial numbers dont really mean shit...but yes...i have paperwork that includes the serial, showing i own it....so if it is found...i get it back

Not to belittle anyone, but about damn time someone else said it.
Everyone thinks theres a dept of the .gov that keeps every serial number written down, and has the name of the guy who owns it.
When you fill out a 4473 at the dealers place, they keep that in their personal recods for 7 years, in case the ATF does an audit. They will only request records if a person known to buy form there gets into trouble. The way they found Timothy McVeighs dealer. They knew the dealer, Pats Guns, OGden, KS, had sold two handguns to McVeigh. they audited Pats records and found he had purchased two Glock 21's.
Once a 4473 has been stored for 7 years, they are destroyed. Only New York, Illinois and Massachussetts require firearm registration, which is god-damned unconstituitional.
So, If you keep legal for 7 years, nobody knows what gun it was you bought.

Spikito, it was a joint effort
I just wish more people knew how the rules really are. I'm amazed by the amount of gun owners who think we have federal gun registration.

Also people think that the ATF has something to do with the background check. The shop calls the FBI. No serial number or model of the gun is given. Information given to the FBI NICS center is supposed to be destroyed within 24 hours of a final decision (Go or No GO)
