    Low Oil Light

alright so car is running and everything again, I checked all of my fluids everything is good. When i start the car the low oil light is staying on, sometimes i can turn the car off then turn it back on and the light will go away. The car is definatly not low on oil, it reads about half way into the hash marks on the dip stick.. Oil pressure is good, on cold starts its around 60psi, when it warms up its between 40-45 psi..

when i changed out my wiring harness there was one connector that was broken on the new harness, it went into the plug that is right below the starter on the bottom of the block, not sure what it is, but i'm sure it has something to do with the oil, maybe pressure sending unit?? i don't know, you tell me!! anyways i took the connector off of my old harness spliced it in, made sure it had a good connection and electrical taped the hell out of it for good messure!!

    anyone have any ideas??

Might be the connector to the oil level sensor. The pressure switch is on the top of the motor behind the intake plenum. The light still on?

Low oil level sensor is on the passenger side, screws into the oil pan. Comes on about 2 quarts low, after filling to proper level doesn't reset until the PCM sees at least 194 degrees ECT for a couple cycles. Check it's wiring/connector. Sensor behind the starter is something else.

ok its the oil level sensor for sure then.. i had the motor out for about 2 weeks so that might be why it came on to begin with maybe? the car has never been ran on low oil since i've had it.. but i also haven't had the car up to 194 degrees but maybe once since the car has been running again.. i just took the car up to the gas station (only about a block maybe 2 blocks away) and the light didn't come on at all... maybe its gone for good now? i plan on driving it to work in the morning so i'll see if it comes back on then.. if not then i guess i was just being paranoid... i don't like having any sort of oil issue...

i normally don't let my car get close to 200 degrees, whenever i notice it get about 180 i kick on the fans and then it stays right at 180..

Light shouldn't come back on then. Sounds like you're good to go.
