3x Black- 2000 Convertible
2k convert door speaker question
got a 2000 camaro convertible, like so many others with the monsoon system my doors are blown out.
I have poked around the net and seen many people say the Infinity 62.7i are a great replacement. But I was told by a local shop that they were discontinued.
Is that true...if it is what is the new replacement for them??
I looked at the 62.9i on the net but I couldnt find a very good closeup for them.
any ideas for a door speaker that is currently being produced??

Yea most people say the 62.7's are great and they are a direct replacement, all that is true.
My real question is are they discontinued and if they are whats the new replacement for them? If there is any.

Blue- 2001 Camaro SS Convert
I also am a (not so) proud owner of a blown set of speakers for my Monsoon based convert 2001.
I just recieved my 62.9i. I have looked at them and with some mods, I will have these in (hopefully tomorrow)
I have looked at the speakers, and what you will want to do, is to unsolder the crossover box. It looks like the best place to do this is right at the speaker. There is a little plastic cover that is glued on (easily prise off) You will then have 3 wires (red/white/black) It looks like the positions where the wires are as follows: white is common, red is tweeter and black is mid

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
I didn't know this. I just recently bought some stocker replacement Monsoon speakers on Ebay and replaced the blown out speakers in my 98 and 02. 98 had a blown right side while the 02 had a blown left side. 02 got the new ones and I took the good speaker from the 02 and replaced it for the blown speaker in the 98.
Much better now (both cars have Monsoon system).

I just went ahead and got speakers with separate tweeters and had custom tweeter pods for the top of the door made. I think it sounds and looks great.
