It's not about them wearing American colors.
Obviously they wore them on purpose to make a statement.
The school has an obligation to keep the school safe, and the potential for possible fights was there because of the boy's bad decision.
The school saw through their scheme to cause a stir.....It did, they got reprimanded, now the boys & the parents want to cry about it.

Technically it is disrespectful to display the American flag on anything other than a flag, but that's not the issue here.
They're proud of their country, but maybe they should be a little more tolerant of foreign holiday.
Bottom Line. Principal made a hasty and racist decision, and nobody jumps down his throat about racism, why? Because he's Hispanic.

The bandana was too much but the shirts and shorts were no problem.

If I was the students, I would dress in only red white and blue for the rest of the year.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Why am I reminded of Sylvester the Cat????
And I agree. When did it become wrong to be white and display pride in your country???? It pisses me off that Mexican American students can display an American flag UNDER a Mexican flag (it's sctually against the law to do this) like they did in Montebello, yet American kids get disciplined for wearing an American flag.
This Politically Correct crap has got to come to an end before we come to an end.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 05-06-2010 at 09:59 AM. Reason: spelling

lol their american rights that they're not entitled to because they're illegal? exactly. I agree, the bandana ( edit after i said banana) was a bit much. I'd wear red white and blue the rest of the year too. So here's the question...when is it racism against white people? when is it racism against americans?
