evolution performance took delivery of their production 2011 mustang.

    it ran 13.2 @ 110. 2.1 60'

so is it quick? yes. is it a camaro killer? well, an l99 for sure. but against an ls3 it will be very close.

unless they went back and tried again, which i'm not aware that they did

    forums.themustangsource.com/showthread.php?t=482618&page=3

link to the thread on the 13.2 run ^^^

i know they got into the 12's once they started modding they car. i'm unaware of a stock 12.8 run by them but it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

the stang also has a significant gearing advantage. 3:73's out back, and a pretty agressive transmission

Camaro: Gear Ratio:1/MPH Per 1000rpm/Max speed in gear
    1 3.01 / 7.9 / 52
    2 2.07/ 11.6 / 77
    3 1.43 / 16.7 / 110
    4 1.00/ 23.9 / 157
    5 0.84/ 28.5 / 157
    6 0.57/ 42/ 157

Mustang: Gear Ratio:1/MPH Per 1000rpm/Max speed in gear
    1 3.66/ 5.8/ 40
    2 2.43/ 8.7/ 60
    3 1.69/ 12.51/ 86
    4 1.32/ 16/ 110
    5 1.00/ 21.1/ 146

It's a "Kills Forum". Everything in here should be considered "internet racing" and taken with - at best - a huge grain of salt.

car&driver has a new comparo (both 6-speed manuals), 13.0 for the SS and 13.2 for the 5.0stang. These cars are a very close drivers race so far with the magazines.

Do you understand the relationship between Torque and HP?

Pro Stock Drag Cars (as in, NHRA Pro Stock...those N/A cars that run mid-high 6's) are lacking torque, too, compared to HP. I wonder why?

Because it lessens the shock to the tires out of the hole? Because you don't need as much torque when launching at 5000+RPM? Because it is an apples to oranges comparison? What, man? Please tell us...

horsepower is calculated by torque and rpm ... torque is force or energy and horsepower is power...horsepower is what keeps the vehicle in motion. as to the relation to the pro stocks...i don't know

why do we have two cars here with nearly identical HP--- one is lighter with alot more agressive gearing-- yet they run the same times and speeds?

word--- it will be interesting. someone will cut a 12.6 for sure.

the real story is the trap speed. 110-111 for both cars.

ET? who knows for sure. the stang may have the advantage out of the hole if it can hook up, but it's transmission gears are aggressive too so that may throw an extra shift in there.
