i had a serious question about the Corvette .Is there any chance with a 2004 bone stock Z06 to match against the GTR in a 1/4 mile or even a 1/2 mile race ?

notes: both cars are bone stock !!

GTR will most likely win, not everyone can get a stock z06 in the 11s, but since the GTR has no clutch pedal everyone who can pull a paddle can run 11s in it.

A stock C5 Z06 won't get a R35 GTR unless the Nissan's driver screws up. Can't beat the all wheel drive launch. A roll from 55 mph might be a better race, but if I recall correctly, the entire acceleration of the GTR from 0-150 beats the C5 Z06. The GTR is a good match for a C6 Z06 from a dig until 60 or 70, then the Vette pulls away from that point on.

Yes the Z06 with stock rubber has been taken into the 10 second bracket.
I can't remember the name of the guy who did it.
So far he hasn't set a 1/4 mile time with a ZR1

Yes, i have seen a 10.8 and a couple 10.9s stock down to the tire and filter. As for the zr1 i have only seen low to mid 11s with a 5-8mph faster trap speed than the z06 but its a hard car to launch on stock rubber. It makes roughly 300ftlbs of trq at idle. But i have seen the lingenfelter stage 2(stage 2 is smaller pulley, better intercooler, CAI and tune)zr1 with drag radials run and 10.2 @ 144mph.

when i first found that out..about a year ago..i nearly jizzed on myself ....the fact that at idle the ls9 makes 50 shy of our peak stock ...i told my g/f that and she rolled her eyes at me and called me a perv ...she doesnt understand

c6 z06s lose to GTRs, so the c5 will get beat.

I belong to a import forum and the 3 guys that own them have mods on them and have raced new z06s and said its pretty much a drivers race. So i think itll be a little close.

Driver's race to 60. The Z06 has more power and less weight than the GTR, and the GTR makes up for that with steep gears and all-wheel-drive. However, after 60, the Z06 will beat the GTR, and the faster they go the more time the Z06 will gain on the GTR. Try to find comparison tests that show the 0-30, 60, 100, 150, and 1/4-mile of both cars, plus passing acceleration (acceleration from a roll). From a roll or after 60 the Z06 really shows its power and weight advantage.

really? my bad, i was thinkin it was 05 when they did the new body style... good to know i guess
