Same here bro- I didn't even want to take the chance (even though some say no mod required-maybe adj. panhard(sp?) bar) Plus the 17x9's with 275/40's is plenty wide IMO.
You went with chrome plated right? I did and do not regret it at all! Mine get waxed a couple times a year just for protection really but just regular car wash makes em look great.

A fairly common look, but one what works in my opinion.
99 T/A with 17x9.5 Torque Thrust II's with Nitto 555 275/40/17 up front and 315/35/17 in the rear.

When I get it back from the shop, I'll polish up the wheels and try to get better pics.

Midnight Blue Metallic- 2000 Trans Am WS6 Conv.
I liked the chrome ones the best. I think they are wide enough too. If I would have went any wider then I would have had to either cut the fender or the bump stop. Because my car is a vert the fender wells are not as deep. I need to get my rims waxed too but I have only had them on for a week. It's sitting in the garage for the next couple of days anyway because mother nature is being a complete bitch today and dropped a few inches of snow today so it will be a few days before the roads get clear enough. Wonderful springtime in IL.
