External Hard Drive Recovery

Cry for help. I have an external hard drive that has become damaged. While it was writing info it was knocked over and now clicks when powered up. Does anyone know of a site that can repair or more importanly recover info on the hard drive. Also do you know how much this service cost. Any help or sugestions would be great. Thanks.

Ontrack.. Not cheap by any means. Step 1 is eval to see what if any info they can get off of it. It's $500 before the eval.. Then they charge per meg if I remeber correctly. They may have changed since, we had to have a CFO's drive recovered.

There would have to be some pretty important info on a drive for me to pay that much

I know we spent almost 4k to get the data off. And that did not included the 500 up front. It can be done but is not cheap. A good recovery place will have a clean room. They will take the platters out of your drive and place them in a working drive. It gives the best chance for recovery. To spin the drive up in the bad drive can cause further damage.
