Detailed my engine.
I was really bored, so I picked up some of that CD2 I've been reading about and tried it out. After some simple green and scrubbing, the motor almost looks new. Next I need to find some tubing to clean up the wires a bit.
Any suggestions on what to do next, without breaking the bank?

I was thinking about the wire mod, but I'm weary about drilling through the wheel wells. My luck seems to go from bad to worse when I try doing anything other then cleaning the car. On a scale of 1-10 how hard is the wire mod? 1 being cakewalk, 10 being something a pro would have a hard time with.

Only cutting is when you drill the hole. Wires all you do is disconnect them, pass thru hole and reconnect them.

I might try both, once the weather warms back up, I'm really starting to hate being unemployed. I've got way to much time on my hands now and running out of things to do.

I like they way that wire mod looks. I think when I start tearing the car down to do some paint work on it I'll do that since the wheel well loner will alteady be off the car along with several other pieces. Should look good with that mod after I get the new polished intake and coil covers.

I just did the wire mod, hood latch mod, and TCS relocation....I had been hesitant for a long time but it ended up being pretty easy.
For the wire and hood latch mods, I got 3/4in rubber covered metal brackets from Lowes for like $2 and used small self tapping screws to attach them to the wheel well.

Looks nice and clean. How about taking care of the rock dings on your headlight covers now? Or is that just a photo dust thing? Nice NBM 'hawk!

Tomorrow it's going in to get repainted, so that should get rid of the rock dings.

Not much, most was an insurance company paying to fix a crappy paint job another local shop did. Paid $140 out of pocket to have the headlight covers redone though.

stupid question but i saw on tv on trucks! this weekend that they went to a powerwash facility on washed the engine then drove away. Now i always thought that you had to cover some of the electrical parts before you spray them directly before cleaning. I didn't see them do that but i thought maybe they just didn't show them covering on tv...by the way the engine looks good now!

I always read that you shouldn't use high compression like that of a power washer to detail an engine. A simple hose with the proper cleaning supplies such as simple green will suffice.
Pretty sure there is a sticky on here about cleaning the engine bay.
