00 Z28 vs 2010 Jeep SRT8
Tonight i ran my buddy that just got a brand new Jeep Cherokee SRT8.
We ran a 25 roll, a 40 roll and a 60 roll.
I beat him by quite a long shot, which we both expected.
we also did 2 dead hook pulls from a stop
he smoked my ass off the line and by the time i caught up we were well into 120mph, and being that it didn't really matter who won we let off, but the SRT with AWD is a beast off the line.
he had a flip cam and recorded the runs so hopefully in a day or so i can have them uploaded from him2000 B4C Special Service Package Z28 - Kooks 1&7/8 Stepped 2'' - TSP Torquer V.2 - FAST 92/92 - BDR 4000 Conveter - Xtreme Trans Stage II - Full UMI Suspension - Pacesetter LT's - Comp Drag Shocks - Magnaflow - Cutout - ZO6 MAF - FTP LID - Street Tuned -

One of the mechanics at my workplace has a TBSS white with black leather interior and it looks sick. Even though its completly stock i really love the way it looks.

The SRT 8's are quite fast. Off the line the AWD is a monster, I have serious problems running one down as traction is such an issue in 1-2

Blue- 2009 Jeep SRT8 & 1999 WS6
I take it you have not driven one.
I have only driven my Ws6 300 miles since I bought my SRT8 Jeep, which now has 11,000 miles on it.
On the street, the Jeep for the win since it will always have traction.
The Jeep will run the quarter mile in 13.0 sec and does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, these are stock numbers.Last edited by wolfews6; 04-08-2010 at 03:44 PM.

what do you expect from a muscle car fan? suv= wife's vehicle. if both are sitting in the drive(ta and srt8 jeep), and everyone fits in the ta, that's what im rolling in. suvs are boring unless there's a hottie drivin

Why he says yawn is because its a SUV but it cant do anything but drive on the street. You might aswell have gotten a fast sedan or wagon. Look its a SUV that cant tow or offroad but it can accel fast and has AWD. Oh wait dont they have sports cars and sport sedans that do the same thing? But get better gas mileage?
They do not run 13.0 stock. 13.0 is a great time for a srt-8 charger or srt-8 challenger which weigh 700lbs less than your jeep and dont have power robbing AWD which is why they tend to trap 5-8mph faster.Last edited by Zinergy; 04-09-2010 at 01:01 PM.

The Charger and Challenger can not hit 4.4 0-60mph stock, which is why for the same ET, they will trap higher. I had a Charger before the Jeep. It was faster "from a roll on the highway", but not from a standing start. I got stuck in the snow too many times to ever want to drive it again during the winter, so I bought the Jeep.
I have yet to find another vehicle I can drive everyday that has the traits of a sports car and will not get stuck. Yes it gets 11mpg on premium, but the extra gas is better than driving a new sports car for only 7 months of the year and a beater for 5 months. It is the best compromise I know of.
Try driving a WS6 in the snow. I know I don't and that is why my WS6 only has 15,000 miles on it with over 10 years of driving.
Yes the Jeep will run the 1/4 mile in 13.0 stock.
My 4.4sec 0-60mph run also had 2 people in the car and a car seat(no child on board at the time). Try that in a WS6.
Don't get me wrong the WS6 is one of the best looking cars ever made and very fun to drive (which is why I still own it), but the technology in the new cars is amazing.
Don't be upset that my "SUV" is faster in almost every category than most "sports cars" including the F-body's.

I will add that the only better daily driver would be a Porsche 911 Turbo. If I lived where it barely snowed, I would have a 911 instead of the Jeep.

FAST JEEP, NO TOW, or OFFROAD
Those srt-8 jeeps are awesome, I love the look of them also. I wouldn't mind having one. But if I had the money I would opt for the new M6, 555hp. 1/4 12.4 at 112mph I believe. That's just crazy but it's +100g's, so 50g's for a SRT-8 jeep sounds like a good deal.
Just looked you can get a 2007-2008 mid 30's to 40 no bad.
