Need to get rid of the side moulding and emblems...it looks weird without flares but with moulding.

yep, they're on the list but I want to wait until it warms up outside. You rip a little chunk of paint off pulling flares you can just touch it up and put the flares back on. You rip a chunk off the door and you are skareeewed.
The running boards are getting replaced too with chrome step bars.

I'll probably use fishing line on the doors to get it off then goo-gone the sticky shit off there.

Let it sit in the sun...that should be enough for it to come off. Then a little goo gone or wd-40 and you're in business. I took the moulding off my 96 after 13 years on the truck the only place that pulled paint was where it had been hit and the body shop used shittough adhesive. You should be fine with a sunny day and maybe a hairdryer, just go slow and take your time.
Good loocking truck btw.

one thing I still have trouble believing that I read is the stock rims are 16x6.5....those are friggin trailer tire rims. If they were 8-9" wide I'd keep the stock rims but I'm not running a big tire on these rims.

I'd look into bigger wheels lol. As far as tires go, BFG All Terrains, Nitto Terra Grappler ( I have these and love them) and Toyo Open Country A/T are excellent tires for towing and traction.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Even without a lift, those trucks look bad@$$ with wider wheels/tires.
extreme dimensions, driveshaft shop, harrop, hid(35watt/6k) lows, hurst, k&n, led fogs, maverick man, mishimoto, nitto, revshift, slp, stern st-1, smoked sidemarkers, whiteline poly radius rod bushings

Looks much better man, I think those are the same fender flares I have on my truck.
BTW, have you by chance decided what wheel/tire combo you want for it yet?
