Silver- 2005 Toyota Corolla (DD)
**UPDATE w/ Pics**upgraded their wife's ring
So, I'm coming up on the 5 year anniversary and the Mrs. has been not-so-subtley hinting at her engagement ring, and that it was time to upgrade.
Back story is she got a .55 ct, VS1, G (or H), ACA Super-ideal cut. At the time it was the most I could afford.
I make significantly more now than I did then (probably 25k/yr) but I still want to pay cash.
My question is, for the fellas that "upgraded", how many years after you got married did you do it, and how big was the size increase?
.25 ct, 0.5 ct, .75 ct increase ?
(I guess you'd have to put the original size for a comarision, if you're comfortable doing so)Last edited by Detroit Power; 04-13-2010 at 04:37 AM.

Upgrade your ring!? WTF? Did she upgrade her BJ giving abilities? Upgrade her boobs? If so, then consider it. But if the only thing that increased was her weight, then fuck it, she's stuck with what she's got.

10 years of marriage -- no plans to "upgrade" the engagement ring and have never heard of such a thing.

Women are usually all about intrinsic stuff, but this idea seems the complete opposite of that.
I mean sure, if she wants some big ass diamond ring and you don't mind, go for it.
But altering the ring your husband proposed to you with defeats the purpose in my opinion. You might as well propose and say "Yo btw I don't have a ring but later in life when I'm ballin I'll get you some expensive shit you'll like and be able to show off to all your friends"

Exactly. Upgrading defeats the purpose of why u gave it to her in the first place. Its not about size, cut, clarity, cost, its about WHY you gave it to her. She obviously is very materialistic.

That's pretty odd that your woman wants an upgrade to the very ring you gave her when you proposed and does seem pretty materialistic on her part to want this.
