Hi - LS1 virgin here
Hi all from across the pond - bit the bullet on saturday and bought a y2k SS in black. Not perfect (what 10 year old car is?) but certainly a nice place to be. It is a little strange in how it drives though when compared to an SVT Lightning I used to own - in the L the acceleration felt brutal and you were punched back into your seat, in the SS one moment you're going slow and the next you're simply not going slow (actually you're going bloody FAST).
I haven't taken any pix yet but the below are from the previous owner and the advert I saw to buy it.

Will drive the car for a couple of weeks first to ensure that there's nothing needs doing and then have a play around with the various aftermarket optionsLast edited by waylander; 03-16-2010 at 10:57 AM.

had American cars for the past 12/13 years which were:
4 IROC-Zs
1 1992 Z-28
1 1987 Z28 (with 383)
1 1995 3.4 Firebird
1 2000 Ford Lightning
what's weird is I prefer it just makes it easier to postion the car... as for over-taking as long as you got a little power to play with then it's not a problem

Unfortunately the cop cars over here are fitted with license plate recognition cameras, so if you do that, they give you a slap and a ticket when they catch you.
The best thing ive seen done is someone throwing an old tyre over a speed camera and setting fire to it, or buying an old land rover and running em down

Yup - Cap'n Gatso is my hero!! Best thing for Gatsos is the present of a nice necklace
On to more pleasant thoughts though... as I probably mentioned at the moment I'll be going for more show than go and am thinking of the following:
Phoenix Graphics stripes - have to go for the 35th anni ones, look amazing
6Litereater dial covers
take off the rear silencer - just have straight pipes (had this with my Lightning and loved it)
may go for the cai http://kentucky-speed.com/vararam-va...1c1f228f565618
also thinking about heated seats (being an old git)

A very clean car ! I notice also that it is a hard top - no t-tops. Kinda rare in an SS model. Definitely a good find.
