Shower Speakers
anybody ever put speakers in their shower? i see you can get them online for like $40, wouldn't think it would be that hard to cut a couple holes in the roof above my shower and run the wires over to my computer, anybody ever tried it?

well shower speakers are expensive, can't imagine there any good for the money? although its a low voltage application you can't use regular old speaker wires in the wall. Think I saw in wall speaker wire with a ground wire in the jacket, i would just make sure it was on your grounding grid to prevent line voltage faults that would create a potential voltage between the speaker and the water. i would just get a shower radio, or hang indoor outdoor speakers in the bathroom instead of in the shower, probably a lot cheeper.

Both of our upstairs bathrooms have speakers. Of each pair, one is in the shower. The first set was installed almost 10 years ago and the second set about 3 years ago. We have never had a problem. They were not specially designed for the shower. But I did make sure they were not paper speaker cones.

Just don't go price it. We've installed twice now, Kohlers 'rain' showerhead system, and I think parts alone were in the 5k$+ range. Fucking insane prices for their shit, and it's not any better than anyone elses.

I just turn my computer speakers up all of the way...I can hear just fine from my room, down the hall, and into the bathroom...granted both doors (bedroom and bathroom) need to be open, but whatever.

I am probably going to put an LCD/LED tv in my bathroom at some point. The term "sick" is often used to describe me and my toys/habits

I've got speaker wires running to almost every room in the house, out by the pool and the spa and also in the garage. All hooked up to the stereo.
All the speakers are hooked up to remote speaker switches so I can turn on or off all the speakers in the house.
Works out nicely

Like others have said...I just turn up the home theater in the basement a bit.
3/4 volume can be heard outside the house. So it's easily heard in the shower.
I don't want to get an apartmentno more head bangin in the shower with a cold beer
