Sorry for the noob question again guys. I've just always wondered this.
    It depends on this......
    1. how restrictive is the stock piping? is it too small? are the bends poor?
    2. Does the engine require bigger piping? or would just a muffler for some sound be good enough
    3. if you have a car that is really choked by the stock exhaust and you replace it with approriate size piping, there could be a decent difference. but if the stock exhaust flows real well then there might not be any at all

Surprisingly none. The acoustic was on my parents dime, and the Epiphone was received in a trade by some guy who took a cheap Crate electric similar to mine for it

Somehow I think that falls under the "if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all" category. Ignore was the best option

Ouch! How would you feel if your father hoped that your dick falls off?

Here's a comparison between my stock T/A exhaust and the Magnaflow catback. Not a whole lot of difference, but the sound factor and look was well worth it imo.

Thanks a bunch stanger and jeff. Very helpful info guys, i understand much better now. I really appreciate you all clarifying this for me.

And BTW jeff, that magnaflow looks real good. The tips almost look like a corsa catback, i like it a lot.

The Magnaflow tips just make the back of the car. The stock tips just looked way out of place. When I first saw the car at the dealer's lot, I thought that there is no way they were correct and figured someone had cheaped out on a replacement system. I was wrong.

That looks great man, wow. Those tips really do set the rear end of that car off, i like it a lot. Very clean and tastefully done. Looking at that rear end brings back so many memories.

My father bought his black WS6 in 02 brand spankin new, had 6 miles on it and still had the plastic all over it from the factory, bought it right off the lot, i thought it was the BADDEST car on the planet and nothing could be done to make it look better than stock, boy was I wrong. I totally agree with you, those tiny little exhaust tips in the back look so bad. Also imo, these cars sit to high from the factory also.

But again, very nice ride man, makes me want a t/a so bad, just cant find em anywhere for a reasonable price, i've given up on those things and have moved on.

What kind of tips did your car come with Jeff? We bought a loaded '00 t/a non-ws6 vert and it had some nice cast ovals (I think cast) that went well with the bumper. Maybe the small tips are a ws6 thing

Yep, the ws6's came with these little ugly circle exhaust tips, the non-ws6's came with the ovals.

My car gets 10 more RWHP than an LS2 GTO. My manager thinks it's the 2-piece driveshaft causing the issues. There is play in the pinion yoke.

Maybe excessive play in the u-joint?

Thanks! I agree, the car sets a bit high. But with our crappy northern PA roads I do not dare drop it.

The stock exhaust is pictured a few posts up. Single tips with no style at all.

THX for the comps on mine. Good place to look is Ebay believe it or not. Sometimes you can find killer deals - few and far between though. Love my Gretsch though - plays great and good range of sounds. Would highly recommend one. Nothing wrong with cheaper ones. I started with a $50 Yamaha electric that wouldnt hold a tune for a 1/2 hour after I tuned it. I learned fast on it though.
