Blowers
Been out of the LS1 game for about 3 years and thinking of purchasing another one.
Wanted to see if anyone had ever came out with a ROOTS type SC blower for these things yet?
Back in the day ATI and Vortech were the only ones that produced a product for these cars. Now they made some great gains in the HP arena but im old school, have a roots type SC poking through the hood is what its all about for me!
Im heavy into the marine racing stuff big apaches, fountains, outerlimits and such, these little fan doohickies dont do it for me.
No offense to anyone that has one, but honestly THIS is what supercharging is all about guys!

The problem with installing a roots style blower on an F Body is the location of the engine partially under the firewall. The newer GTO's offer the Magnuson supercharger, which would be more to your liking, although they do not poke through the hood. Bob

Thank you Bob!
SOMEONE has finally answered the top mount roots type request.
If there is a will, there is a way, there is no possible way to get that under the lip of the windshield in an F body?
Looks pretty low profile to me.

I had a Magnusen kit on my 02 ZO6 for about two years. It uses the Eaton M-112 which, technically, is a screw- rather than roots type blower (they work roughly the same but there is a technical difference. Regardless both are twin-intertwinned impeller, positive displqacement units.
You have to buy a hood with a 3 inch bulge to fit over it but otherwise it is as good as any aftermarket kit i ever had. Totally satsifactory. I kep it up until I switched out toe a C5R 427: the M-112 is the biggest blower Eaton makes that will fit (maybe the biggest they make, period) and I didn't think it would feet a 427 -- went with a Procharger D1SC.

The blower is such that the stock fuel injector locations will be used or you can carb it via top carb adapters.
The import market that I deal with now is very hit or miss, so I wish to get back to the real world and blown V8's are it.
