best headers for SLP exhaust?
I'm leaning towards getting the SLP Loudmouth II exhaust. I love the way it sounds on their site. I want to do the entire exhaust all at once so I was wondering what headers would go good with the exhaust. I cant afford the ones from SLP and cant really spend too much in general due to lack of funds. I just want my car to sound mean for now. I cant do too much with the car because it is going to be my temporary dd while my curren dd is getting an engine rebuild. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Its good you can't afford SLP headers, they are crap anyways.
Look into Pacesetters, they are probably the best budget headers.

I have Kooks with the LMII and get compliments on the way it sounds from tons of people. It is a little on the loud side, but it isn't like running open headers like tons of people on this site do. It has a loud sweet spot at 2500RPM that screams and well WOT of course. However, just cruising around town it's plenty tolerable. I do know that is it a lot louder behind the vehicle than inside of it. Also, it isn't raspy at all, like most here will tell you. Most of the raspy sounding exhaust set-ups are contributed to SLP LTs with the SLP LMI. The LMII is more subtle, not by much but it still helps.
People always complain about the exhaust being too loud and to go with a calmer exhaust like Magnaflow...and then they get a cut-out and leave it open all the time. Doesn't make much sense.

I dont want someting quiet. I figure, I've got a WS6. It's a beast of a car. I want it loud. I want it to be intimidating. I want it to scare people and cause small children to cry. The louder, the meaner, the better imo.
The Pacesetters sound good to me. How much do they usually cost?
How come SLP is crap? I thought they were a pretty good company. But I'm new to the LS1 world so I dont know too much as far as who makes the best stuff for our cars.

SLP, generally speaking, makes superficial HP claims on their products and are overpriced for the quality of workmanship that you get.
For the most part, people will tell you only a small number of things should be purchased through them: Lid, exhaust (if louder is what you are looking for) and the line lock. For all your other needs, go elsewhere.
Even for purchasing such SLP items, I believe our site sponsor sells these and can probably get you a cheaper price. His name is Mark and the site is www.kyspeed.com. Go check it out or send him a PM. His user name on here is marksls1ta.

Ok. I'll have to check out that site. And louder is definietly what I'm looking for...... I knew their lids were good too. Nothing else though? I'll keep that in mind. And yea, their stuff did seem WAAAAY over-priced.
Ouch. Customer Service/Tech Support anywhere always seems to suck though. And I guess I'll stay away from the rest of their stuff then.
Lol, I think I'm gonna stay away from ebay stuff. I fully believe in the saying: "Good parts aren't cheap and cheap parts aren't good.

The only decent product they carry is a lid. Everything else is overpriced. Their exhaust systems are loud, but very raspy imo. I would go with magnaflow. It is quite at idle, but loud at WOT. Good if your taking a girl out because then you dont have to listen to her bitch about how loud your car is hahaha. Magnaflow-Pacesetters. If that isnt loud enough get a cut out.

her: "wow your car's loud, it sounds like my dad's truck"
me:*facepalm* is that a good thing?
her: I think it's really annoying
me:greaaaat lol
her: awww it's ok, I like the way your car's color though....
me:*thinking* wait...silver?
her: *looks over at the blue 350z next to us* "wow that's a sexy car"

If a girl is bitching about how loud your car is, she shouldn't be in it in the first place.

my girl says I should make my car louder and Im running LM1. I think I will keep her around since every other girl seems to bitch about loud cars.
