In other news, my old computer with itunes/music on it crapped, i have to reinstall it on the laptop, will i be able to save whats on my ipod now to this computer rather than have to reburn all my cd's?

You can save your music from the Ipod to the computer (by going through the file explorer navigation, as opposed to iTunes), but unfortunately, due to the ipods' nonsensical file renaming thing, all the filenames of the MP3's will look like "XTYM" or "FTJA" or "WMNB" (I think you get the picture ).

However, I haven't tried it, but all the files should still hold their IDA tags, so if you upload all of the oddly named files to iTunes, they should still list in the library with the proper Title/artist info.

Let me know how it goes for you, because the computer I have my iTunes library on recently stretched out my butthole (no shines-it), so I'll be interested in whether it works or not.

Yeah, make sure hidden files are shown, and then, they'll all be in hundreds of different folders within folders within folders, folders that have a similar yet numerical meaningless naming style.
