Pewter- 2001 Camaro SS SLP M6
1987 Turbo Regal
Hi, I'm selling my 1987 Turbo Regal. The car has 125K on it but as you can see from the pics, alot of work has been done to it. Iv'e owned it since 2003 and had it painted in January of 2005. The interior is out of an 86 V8 limited with 25K miles and is immaculate. Also I swapped the doors from the 86 before it went to the body shop and they are both solid as well. The car is solid all around and rides tight and smooth.
A little bit of history:
I bought it from my uncle in 2003. He owns a salvge yard out in PA and bought the car at an auction. It was abandoned at a repair shop somewhere in PA so for that reason only it has a Salvage title. It was bone stock and a little run down when I got it but there was never any sign of it ever being in any major accidents. I also have all of the receipts form every repair major and minor that's been done to it since new (apparently I'm only the second owner). I have all the stock parts for it including the original buckets, console and column. However I only have two of the stock rims as two of the others were cracked around the hubs so I had to chuck them.
Here are the mods:
Recently rebuit .030 over stock engine.
Champion P&P heads and matched P&P intake.
EGR bypass plate
206/206 roller Comp cam and roller lifters.
Precision GT3255 turbo
CAS V4 stretched stock location intercooler
Razors PAC alky
CK Performance 200R4 with 3000 stall converter
ATR Jet Hot coated headers
2/12" Hooker cat. back
Walbro 340 "hotwired" fuel pump
RJC power plate
Dual airbags
Like new 275/60 ET Streets (no track time on them yet)
Caspers boost and knock guages
Autometer Oil pressure and water Temp
Brand new battery
ENGINE MANAGEMENT AND ELECTRONIC GOODIES:
Translater Pro Speed Density conversion with Extender Pro chip
Power Logger
LC-1 WB02
EGT sensor
All other sensors are new.
All new vac lines and vac tree.
Iv'e gone as fast as 11.8@112Mph with it in the 1/4.. The last time I had it out I was trapping high 113mph (in third) with the 275 50's but I think the car has a lot more in it.
Asking $7,900

How are the lower quarters holding up? Trunk floor? Frame behind the rear wheels? Is this a clone or the real deal? I take it from what you posted that it is real. Also, please explain the "Razors" and "PAC" -- not sure what they are. Thank you!

It's my brother's car, so I feel qualified to answer some of the questions :-)
It was a central-PA car and did have some rot. It was repaired with new metal before it was repainted. Below are pics of the process:

As far as mods go, it has all of the tweaks to make it a 10-second car. Currently, however, it's blowing through 3rd gear at WOT. It's a common problem with a number of transmissions that this rebuilder turned out. Has something to do with the 3rd gear band. Got a bad batch of them or something. I dunno. My Grand National did the same thing with transmissions built by the same guy. He is working with the rebuilder to get another trans that works properly. If it would hold 3rd gear, it would run 10s.
The Razor kit is indeed alcohol injection. It's Progressive Alcohol Controller (PAC). The rate of alcohol delivery is boost-dependent. It's a great kit and suitable for methanol, too (not all kits are).
The car is solid, quiet and feels like a much lower-mileage car. It made my GN feel like a bucket 'o bolts. I can't believe it's still for sale at that price. Should've gone a long time ago....

Sent you a PM
Thanks for the post Jim. I just haven't had time over the past day or two to post.
Anyhow, Razor's PAC is Progressive Alcohol Control. It's a spray kit with it's own pump, reservoir and control unit. It uses a 3 bar MAP sensor for boost and it ramps the amount of injection as boost increases. It's a pretty cool set up and very effecient for street use. When I race it at the track, I run 93 octane and alky.2002 SS M6 Convertible

From the '80s, the T-Types, Monte SS and an El Camino are about the only cars that I would like to add to the collection. Granted, a GNX would be icing on the cake -- but I have always had a soft spot for the unusual. A Turbo Regal is much more low key than the GN or GNX so it fits the bill perfectly. Last year I looked at a 471 original mile GN that is in a garage 2 miles from my house... so far I have not been able to get a price from the owner.
