1/4 estimate on Porche
My bro down in SC just bought a 2001 Porche Boxter 5sp with 40k miles, but I'm wondering how it would do on 0-60 and 1/4 times/speeds? Its comparitivly weak but its also lite as hell!

The boxster S with 258 hp only runs 14.0 in the 1/4, so you can imagine how the normal one does.

I spanked a Boxster S when I had a 2002 S2000. That guys face was priceless when I told him it was a Honda! If the S2000 can beat one they are very weak!

Man, I hurt for this guy. Once the Porsche emblem coolness wears off, He'll be shedding that thing like an old "Macarena" dance cd.

Porsche boxster and mercedes c230, the only reason they sell is posers and wannabes buy them to have the porsche or mercedes emblem for a price like a honda or toyota. A porsche/mercedes "sports car" without the price or performance of an porsche/mercedes sport car.

I live on North Padre Island where a bunch of Navy pilots in training live.
The Porsche Jr. (Boxter) is like the official car of the Maverick and Goose wannabe crowd around here.
This place is infested with both the standard Boxters and the S models.
I guess nobody has ever sat them down and broke the news to them that Boxters are slow, because they will thow revs and challenge you every chance they get.
I've had 2 Z28's, a Mach 1, and 2 Corvettes, and all of them put aircraft carrier lengths on them.
If it's a standard Boxter, race him in the 1/4 and start out backwards.

I always wanted one of the magazines to compare a new C5 Z06 to a new Boxter since they both cost ~50k new from 02-04. I guess they never did it because it would be "unfair" or "apples to oranges". Hell even a base Corvette that cost much less than 50k would have been an embarassing comparison. I don't think that car magazines want to embarass a company like Porche though. They make some incredible cars, but the price for a Boxster is ridiculous. I guess the people that buy them aren't exactly hurting for cash though.

boxsters are weak but were not made to be 1/4 mile cars. something like a boxster in sout carolina would be a very fun car. top down cruisin. as far as performance is concerned theres very few cars that can match a boxster arouund curves. the power isnt horrible its jus not ls1 power. if i remember right the standard boxster of that model year runs the 1/4 in something like low 14s. thats not horrible. but the fun is railing around twisties in it. and that engine sounds awesome when you wail on it.
