Supercharger?
I was wondering if anyone out there makes a twin screw supercharger, magnacharger or any kind of supercharger that mounts on the top of our engines. This is the only thing I could find for an ls1.

I had links to a magnacharger on my comp before it blew up. You have to cut your cowl and possibly some underside of hood I believe to make it fit.

Procharger has the most potential. The magnacharger mp112 will fit with no cutting, but the power increase for the money just doesn't seem up to par in my opinion. Although, the Maggie will have more power down low, so if that's what your looking for then go with it.
A procharger is centrifugal, so the boost/power will be linear. Go with a procharger, they are proven and reliable.

Yea I heard the centrifugal's are good but I was hoping to find a twin screw that was a little better

I recommend the procharger.
Thanks,

search Dragon Race Engineering
They're saying they have a kit to put a 3.3l whipple on an F-body, no mention of cutting, or k member modification so I'm not sure what's involved in the install.

twin screw superchargers are flat out too big to fit under our stock hoods except the mini maggie. they make plenty for lsx engines. our engines also sit pretty far behind the cowl which poses a problem also

I would go with procharger for cost v.s. gain. But here is a link to a F-body maggie

I personally like the Procharger and know a few people who have them installed and have been very happy with the outcome.

Nope, not mine. Pics are from the Dragon Race website I mentioned in the post before your first.
Here's the maggie for comparison (from the late model speed site)
The magnuson is belt driven on the back end, this has a gear box. The magnuson has an intake that is almost flush with the back of the pulley this has a snout on it. Most importantly, the magnuson doesn't have "whipple" stamped on the top of the case.
I have no idea what max boost pressure would be, they seem to indicate that it will support 1000hp (in their FAQ) but they recommend a centrifigul for anything north of 800 because it's pretty much impossible to launch the kind of torque it produces at those levels.
I'm not a dragon rep so take that information as you will, however saying that they "flat out won't fit" seems a little strong to me.Last edited by Wheels; 02-25-2010 at 03:50 AM.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
worth noting is that the whipples just dont perform that well on our 5.7s ..the inlet is way to small and last i checked a few select companies were working on designing a new inlet to get the cfm needed to give the big power. the whipples however do perform big time on the 4.6
