Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Stock GTO diffs have clutches and need the LSD additive. With the GTO the fluid needs to be changed more often than a solid rear. I want a True-Trac tho. I have read about them on several sites and they are very popular. Not expensive either. But I have been told that the LSD additive also quiets the chatter with these diffs. Since my car was modded and raced by the previous owner I have a feeling I will have to reinforce the rear of this car...MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

around 350 rwhp? If I'm not mistaken. If it breaks with that, that's pitiful. But gm probably calls for limited slip additive, some diff fluid has it already mixed in though

You'll be thinking about your cheapness with your car stranded and the rear blown to hell

Yah. These diffs use sytnthetic scheiss and an additive has to be mixed in. I dunno why the GTO diffs are this way. I have also read threads on other sites where people drift with their GTOs and the diffs give out. I guess the clutches give out after a while because they engage/disengage all the time as either rear wheel slips. I have also had people tell me that since my car has a Harrop cover, which reinforces the rear carrier, tell me they hope I have a stronger diff inside.

or do you just mean it doesn't have the trutrac type worm gears? With a diff that has clutches you need limited slip additive usually
