Inline Muffler on LS1
Has anyone ever installed a muffler between the y-pipe and the rear axle instead of the normal crossflow position behind the rear axle? If so, what muffler and how did it go? Any problems?

I don't know if you would have a clearance problem with it mounted there. What are you looking to do that for?

Only because I like the sound of the Flowmaster Super 40 muffler better than the sound of the Flowmaster 80 series crossflow muffler-deeper sound and reduced interior sound.

if ground clearance isn't an issue..it shouldn't be a problem.

I have the Stainless works chamberred system, and one of the chamberred sections is the intermediate pipe (3 1/2), so yes, it fits with no clearance issues.

The SLP Loudmouth is set up like that, there is a little resinator to make it sound better under the passanger seat and then its just pipe going back, you would love Loudmouth, and it knocked off 2/10th of the 1/4 mile.

I seriously doubt a Super 40 is gonna fit under the car. You may have to work up a few mandrel bends and mount a single in/dual out unit crossways, with a tight U-bend wrapping back around to the pass. side tailpipe.
