thanks for the welcome, bias can be a crippling disease that only holds you back from enjoying and learning on so many levels, and I will admit in my younger days I was a chevy rules all else sucks kind of teenager, of course i was only following in my fathers footsteps, once I removed the blinders of bias i really started enjoying this great hobby, Its really no different then having a favorite nascar driver or foot ball team that you defend to the bitter end. any way i wonder if the OP is still pursuing his race or has given up.

And how does this have anything to do with the ricer in the Celica that called out the OP??
It doesn't. Its just a chance for you to plug your import videos.
Thats not a street car at all. It has a freaking parachute on the back. I love how ricers think that just because it has some stock body panels, its automatically "street legal"
We don't "need educated" on anything, save it for someone who actually cares and asks you a question.

You have to remember that wesman is now a certified ASE mechanic
and that he knows ( thinks he knows) everything about every car. Sorry for that off topic comment OP.
I hope you show that celica a lesson on what a ls1 can do.

actually it is a daily driven street legal car, had you researched it you wouldnt look so foolish, the parachute is removable and mandatory under IHRA and NHRA rules on a car trapping over 150 mph. it wasnt a video to compare to the celica had you paid attention in class you would have seen that it was in response to the conversation a few of us was having about how some cars can out run some bikes, wesman i dont know you but you put your foot in your mouth every time you type, you can learn allot from us if you only had the common sense to shut up forget what you think you know and start over fresh. the fact is so far on every thread of yours i have read you fail so miserably its almost painful to read and makes my heart go out to you, but then i have to wonder if maybe just maybe its not your fault and you simply road the short buss to school.

Ummm, you take the parachute off and drive it on the street. See, when you have a really fast car that traps higher than 150mph, most tracks require a parachute pack to run. A car can still be street legal with one. I've seen many imports and domestics on an off the strip that use parachutes. If it's a stock chassis car, it can most likely be easily driven on the street.
You are now starting to sound like a ricer yourself. Stop being such a fool.

To those of you that missed it the OP said the kid with the celica backed out. No fair bringing a Supra to a ricer hate debate(woot I'm a poet...) import hatred is based on fwd p.o.s cars with fart cans, body kits and stolen park benches(spoiler joke...). Imports are not ricers til they get molested with afore-mentioned "modifications".

I'm finishing my first year of college and going for my PHD. I also go home every weekend to work on restoring a 67 firebird, and I go out of my way to learn everything i can about working on cars. Please stop your constant barrage of insults in threads and show some respect. If you can't do that then you shouldn't even be on this forum, no matter how much experience and knowledge you have. Respect and decency should be given to everyone from everyone. The only reason i'm not doing so to you at this time is to call you out on what you've been doing in most of the threads you're involved in. I don't believe your bad attitude, rudeness, and disrespect is fair to other members on this forum. I came to this forum to seek knowledge and the brotherhood that comes with owning an LS1, as we all have. I really feel you are taking away from that with the attitude, rudeness, and disrespect that encompanies the valuable information you add to conversations.

The thread has absolutely nothing to do with your ricer videos or a Supra. Therefore it doesn't belong in this thread. The thread isn't about supras or street bikes. It seems that every chance you get, you have to post up some unrelated information.
I love how you're resorting to insults, even though I've said nothing like that to you. It just proves what a low class individual you are. Then again, you have to be pretty low class to rice up a Civic and try to make it fast.
Some people in here stretch the term "street car" to mean anything and everything. Its ridiculous. I don't care if the owner is retarded enough to try and drive it on the street, its still not a street car.
And before you accuse anyone of riding the short bus, maybe you should learn how to spell. The word "bus" only has one "s", and "allot" is not even a word. How ironic.
That is not a street car. Only by a ricer's definition is that car "streetable". Its fully modified for drag racing. Any state that requires inspection would impound and crush that car so fast you'd wouldn't even have a chance to shed a tear.Last edited by Wesman; 02-16-2010 at 07:30 AM.

IMO, I have owned and worked on more cars than most people, and the bottom line is ignorant people own all types of cars. Only a truly close-minded individual would dimiss another persons car as crap or not worthy of attention - friendly smack talking aside. At the end of the day it comes down to the car owners opinion that matters the most as to whether it was worth the work/money/time invested in it - whether it be American or Rice or European or whatever. If two people have a question as to whose car is faster - there are plenty of drag strips to run at to get your answer at. Other than that - it's a difference in opinion and really doesn't matter.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Street legal and street car are two different thing's,I remember a few yrs back watching shepherd's talon on the street's of wakeman ohio at the shoot out.At the time it was running 8.2-8.3 at 180 mph plus, was it a street car? as much as any other car trapping 180 plus. His car was as much of street car as any car running those times, domestic or import.
