True. Cheaper too. Just looked on eBay. Shorties are cheaper than LTs.

I saw that 2011 will go back to the 5.0 platform, about time 4.6 didn't do the job. The 5.0 will be 411hp from what I heard and believe it has a 400-500 # weight advantage.

its still the point I was kinda making in my 5.0 thread .. If someone is looking at a 2011 GT , you dont have to say " yea but is so down on power from the SS" ...

Yup that's why the dyno shouldn't be used for anything but a tuning device and the track used to show true power

I think if we wait on someone to dyno a 2010 ss when the engine is broken in the numbers will be lil higher. other then the numbers its turning out to be a damn good car and with ford upping the GT maybe we'll see another muscle car war????

true a engine runs a little different after it is good and broke in .. I dont know if you can have a WAR with just 2 players .. You can say the Challenger , but a RT is no match for either the SS or the GT and a SRT is way more expensive .. Now if you could op for a SRT engine in a RT .. then ..,WOW ..

How about an SRT engine in a Crossfire... Now that would be a performer

Weight on the new stang will be about 3500-3600+ from what I've read so more like a 200-400 max weight advantage. I'm still calling drivers race on it 411 HP at 7K(ish) RPM's.

I agree.. And thats all I ever wanted .. A fair race ... BUT... What I meant more in this thread was more car vs car .. not as much as engine vs engine ...

That's the only problem, there are so many varibles.

In a perfect comparisonid say give both cars the same exact wheel/tire combo, do a few 1/4 mile runs, road course and then a few more 1/4s... Maybe even hook the drivers up to sensors to see true comfort, stresses, pressure points and fautige on the the drive him/her self.

I've seen and driven some straitout rockets, but if driving it near it's potential is too harsh for the driver to handle it looses the "fun" factor

Its also about .. What do you see when you look at the cars .. to me the SS just looks like a car that I really dont want .. the front end just looks to fat.. It is a LOT closer between the GTO and a GT .. GTO say business ,kinda compromised look, GT just says fun and cool...

I agree, the GT definately looks better IMO than the SS, but out of the 3 I loke the look of the GTO the best

I don't know about you all but to me the LS is a force to be dealt with and will be a contender for some time. The Camero SS is nice but not as nice as the GTO, and the GT is ok, but when it comes done to it it is all about how much $ you want throw at it.
