HELP: FRC Changes
Hey guys, I have some fuel rail covers which I need to make some changes to. These are the classic Corvette LS6 FRC which have the ribbed 5.7 molding on the bottom half. I originally wanted to sand the ribs down flush with the rest of the FRC however, I noticed I can't do that because it would burn some holes right through. So now my only option is to fill in the ribs and leave it raised.
Any ideas on how I could do this?
thanks in advance guys.Last edited by Bouvers; 02-10-2010 at 07:09 PM.

Depends...are you getting them Powdercoated or just painting them?
Powdercoated: JB Weld
Paint: Bondo

They make a bumper repair kit for filling and repairing plastic bumpers -- it's a bit more flexible and may be appropriate for the proposed job.

I had Afterthoughts make me a pair last summer -- they look awesome and really work well with the theme of our car. My recollection is that they were around $250.00.

How about this?!?
Yes, I sanded them off, ..., & it did require a lot of extra work.
$200 wouldn't be close to the cost! $250 wouldn't even do it, ..., for this application on the SS. If you did it for the Corvette where it didn't require any additional cutting & finishing, you might find someone who'd do it for the $250 range.

Flexible Filler would be a better option IMO, ...
And you really should grind out the red paint to help the filler to adhere.
Then there's cleaner/degreasers, adhesion promoters, etc., etc., ...
The costs I had noted included the initial covers costs also, as that how I typically have sold them.
