Go double check your work.
Make sure all the plug wires are on properly. Remember, they are supposed to click once when you put the wire on the plug, and click twice when you put the wire on the coil.
Also make sure that the EGR is unplugged so that it is disabled, but it still must be hooked up to the intake manifold to avoid a huge vacuum leak.1998 Trans Am WS6 SGM

Do you mean unplugged from where it would be unplugged from the header or the plastic piece halfway down the tubing?

Here is what it should be:
The metal fitting unplugged from the headers (since there is no ports on the new headers you got).
The electrical plug harness unplugged from the EGR valve itself.
The tube from the EGR valve to the manifold should be plugged IN so that there are no leaks between the valve and manifold.

so is your EGR still plumbed into the intake? If so just take it off there ( 2 bolts) and remove the entire system from the car. Get a 1 3/8" expandable freeze plug from the parts store and plug the hole in the intake with that.
Also, what kind of extensions did you use on the front O2's? Home made or store bought?

JOSH81990 I was wondering what you did with the A.I.R. sensor that was attached to your passenger exhaust manifold? I purchased some Texas Speed 1 7/8 long tube headers with the O2 sensors ports but not the EGR or A.I.R. ports.
I asked the Texas Speed rep this question:
I have a couple questions pertaining to your Texas Speed 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers for my 2000 Camaro SS.....
1. If I want to take the EGR, A.I.R. sensor connectors from OEM exhaust manifold and have them put on the headers is that feasible?
2. If I just put the headers on, how do I get around not hooking up the EGR and A.I.R. sensors?
His reply:
You will have to fab something up to make the EGR work with our headers. If you want to remove it, you can simply take it off the car and you will be fine. You will need to have the codes turned off in the ECU by a tuning software so you won't have an SES light. It won't hurt anything in the meantime if the light is on before you get it tuned out.

you can remove the entire a.i.r. system from the car the same as with the egr system. Just pull it out of there. Seems like on the later models you have to plug a vacuum port for the air system...didn't have to on my 98. The air pump itself is behind the drivers side headlight....there should be an access panel to it under the bumper.

Orion, did you have to disable ECU codes or when you removed A.I.R. system did it disable itself?

if josh81990's avatar is correct. it says he has a 02 trans am, their is no egr system on his car. so i dont think it would be that causing the misfire. but i see where orion was going. I would make sure you tightened all the plugs properly and properly installed all the wires. Also check your gaskets make sure their all in place and bolts are torqued. you might have a leak.

yeah you are correct. if his headers dont have the bung for the air system he would need to disconnect the pump, but i dont think that would cause drivabilty issues, just a ses light and some noise like an air leak. the only purpose of the air system is to heat up the cat upon ignition so it functions properly. just need to remove the fuse and the pump and its plummbing. but u will have a ses light until u can get it tuned out.

yes, orion is correct i just checked mine and their is some vaccum lines behind the driver side valve cover associated with the air system that would have to be plugged.
