sorry about the car hope they can fix it for you but if they dont i would for sure but it back and part it out i have done that twice now and only paid $500 to get them back bouth times. im sure you can sell stuff off it.

Those statements should help if they are recent. When my previous car was totalled, I faxed my recent statements to the other driver's insurance. I had just had some 2-1/2" cat-back piping bent and installed on the car a week before the car was totalled. I can't remember how much it added to the check I got, but I put it in the bank.

I went over some of the prices today, about 1,00 for the clutch install after problems, about another 1,000 for the input shaft install, 700 for the headers, 800 for the exhaust, 300 for all new wheels, 280 for new front tires, over 100 for the sub frame connectors, around 90 for the strut tower brace bar. 100 for the bird decal and other small decals. last but not least, numerous trips to the muffler shop of $30, 80, ect

What you should do is ask her ins company what the value of the bird is without all the stuff you installed. Then demod the car once totalled if they don't allow you to buy the car back. If you demod, then transfer to new car. I dunno if this was mentioned before tho.

Yea thats my plan if they total the car. I've got the shit wheels it came with, my stock manifolds, and the roughed up exhaust so i'd get all the new and good stuff back with the car. I'm glad i saved all the stock stuff

its just a pain starting over, and doin everything i just did this year all over again. Things like rims and headers are a pain because i'd have to have the car down for a few days for powdercoating/ install. I guess it doesnt help that today I got a ticket on my way up to jerome. I was coming over a hill, granted i take responsibility, I was doin 88 in a 75 and a cop was right over the hill. Funny thing is, I was decelerating down to 80. Traffic school now...lovely..I can't win

Sweet bro I'll mention that to the insurance agent that I can get the parts cheaper than he can. Every little bit helps. I'm gonna give the guy till later this afternoon, and call around 3. If he hasnt heard from her yet im gonna tell him im getting my lawyer involved

ok here's an update:

I called a few lawyers, one is gonna call me back for a free consultation. Also, I called the shop where it's at, and the shop said the adjuster was already out there, and said they're going to try to save the car. Thank effin god. So, I called her insurance company to follow up, and the rep handling this isnt around (naturally), so I left a message asking whats going on and that i hadnt heard from him last week. So I called back and talked to a claims rep who said that the estimate or whatever its called, is in review and can take a few days. The lawyer is coming out wednesday to talk to me

i'm so sorry that this has happened to your baby

believe me i feel your pain. by just lookimg at the damage it could be totaled out, but i also see that several people on here have parts they can get you,which is great. i wished i could help you but infortunatly my '99 got totaled back in august and most damage is in the rear quarter. i do hope you can get yours back on the road. here is some pics of of my '99 after the wreck:

My dad had a motor cycle wreak almost 2 yrs ago. Was cut off and hit by another driver. Was ambulance to hospital, was covered by his insurance. It took almost 5 months to get everything settle. He ended up hiring a lawyer. The other guy's insurance dragged their heals at every thing. Once his lawyer contacted them, things speed up very fast. Other guy insurance paid all medical bills, paid my dad's new bike off (it was less then 4 months old), and paid a little over 20k for suffering. They didn't want to go to court. Lawyer took his cut (4k) The point is this is going to take a while. Talk to a lawyer, my dad's work on the contingency that when case was settle he would get 20% for settling, or 33% if it went to court.

UPDATE:
So yesterday was the big battle. I finally got ahold of someone at the girl's insurance company, as I was finally going to pick up the rental car, and afterwards the lawyer's office o meet with the lawyer's rep. I get to the rental car place, and the woman from the girl's insurance calls me. We get talking and she says the car is most likely a total loss. As this is going on, this 6ft greasy overweight hunchback lookin dude is tryin to charge me a $50 hold in case i dont bring the car back. I didnt have enough in my account at the time, so my gf put it on her card. I went outside, and then the fight ensued. I explained my whole situation to the woman. How I owe 15,000 on the loan, yet its not connected to the car, how this could screw up the next few years of my life financially, every angle i could find. Yet all she said was well i sympathize with you. We have guidelines to follow bla bla. So i said ok they're guidelines, not rules. they're there to guide you along. So then she said well yea they are rules. All this going on at the rental car. So she said to me maybe i'd have better luck with my insurance company. So i told her fine, and that she'd be hearing from them and my lawyer. So i leavce with the rental car, and get to the insurance place. I start talkin to the kid, and explain whats going on with the car. All of this , during which the whole day my back had been hurting more. So the kid replies with how the lawyer wont be albe to do anything about the car. In the state of arizona bla bla you're sol kid. So im texting my mom to call the one shop who said they'd make sure the car wouldnt be totaled. I tell the kid im not ready to sign anything until i talk to her, because she's been through all this before and i havent. So i get outside and call her, and she says that the insurance company had called her, and was talking to her now saying that the car is repairable. So after me shouting "It lives!!", I tell her to ahve the woman call me back. So the woman calls me back saying she checked the value on my car, and that after the estimate they did, that right now they're at a 48% of the car's value in repairs. She said that the highest they go is 70% of the car's value, then they total the car after that. So she went in saying that the car could still be totaled if they get in there and need to do more repairs bla bla bla. So I apologize for my actions earlier, and she understood. She must have told me the car could still be totaled, about 20 effing times. Just out of no where going back into it. My mom told me the same thing. So after we hung up, i called the body shop to see what info they had, and they said this insurance co. doesnt have all their shit together. The shop hadnt recieved an estimate, and she said the woman gave her the same 48/70% speil as well, and told me that thats alot of room to work with. SOOO, the bird lives. for now. operation resurrection. The spirit and legen of the phoenix truely lie with this bird with them putting it back together. I'm proud to be the owner of a trans am. The rental car place gave me a pontiac G6, which, isnt a bad car. Its a dog, but comfortable. The interior feels a bit cheap, BUT, I like two things. First, the steering wheel. It's a 3 spoke, with a nice center piece with the pontiac logo. The wheel itself is thick. Does anyone know if we can put these on our cars? i think they'd look alot better. Second, they have a small design cue that i pointed out to my girlfriend. Inside the a/c vents, they have a honeycomb plastic piece, thats a really nice touch to the interior. I'd put it in my car if I could. anyone else seen this or know what im talking about? Anyway, I thought i'd let everyone know what happend. I go see my doctor again tomorrow about my back pain, which im sure some sort of xray or other test will follow after.

good to see you still have a shot at getting it back. as for your back go see a ciro. to and see what they have to say. i hurt my back when i crashed my truck and could not turn at all with out pain but after about a year of the ciro and what not its just as good as new.
