Barret Jackson fucked the everyday guy over when it comes to classics. Unless you bought a piece of shit mopar for nothing before then. Back in the day muscle cars were priced like the worthless pieces of shit they were.

sold: 1999 firebird- 1998 Trans Am
in 2000 a 69 z28 fully restored was worth about $25 grand, it went up to about $75k in 2005 because of the muscle car phases the market went though,
mopars, although the shittyiest of muscle cars, are also the best looking, and the people who pay upwards of 100k are definatly buying them to look at them, not depend on them.
typical barrett jackson cars are flawless low milage nut and bolt restored trailer queens, thier prices are very resonable i think, earlier in the week is when the used and enjoyed cars are sold for much less, it just usually isnt covered as much,Last edited by justinmc978; 01-23-2010 at 06:34 PM.

Trucks generally aren't on the televised portion, but try telling a c10 owner his truck isn't worth anything. "but it's a classic man!"

But I tell you with the Class of 2010 cars that are coming out .. They really put up well to the Classic cars they replace ... I mean the new Mustang , Camaro, or Challenger .. .. the old ones may have the looks and personalities .. but with MORE HP .. Fuel-injection and brakes and such ... I really dont know if the old ones are worth what you have to pay for a nice one ...

I've got to say something on this one.
Even though i am not a real fan of older cars, you've still got to appreciate em ya know? The new camaro, challenger, and mustang are awesome, but it's just the legacy that the classic ones have, just all that legacy and history that they have behind them is kind of worth paying the extra money imo, i mean those cars are the cars that began this whole muscle car war thing we have going today, def. worth paying the extra money to have one imo.
I know your a grown man and you've got more experience than me, im not trying to act like i've been through the whole muscle car uprising or anything, just stating my opinion on this thats all.

Im just say .. Muscle cars classics ,, great to look at .. New era better to drive .. and if I have a car its going to get drove ... I have had a 65 GTO a 68 and a 72 .. and the 05 out does everything they can think of.. it goes quicker, handles better and stops 1/2 the space , AC works , .. that being said the old ones look much cooler ... Like I was talking with a buddy of mine .. 65 GTO work on all week drive on weekends .. 05 drive everyday ..

I have all the modern conveniences except power windows and locks which i'll have soon enough. I am down maybe 2mpg in town compared to modern trucks (12 or so) but can use liability because i also have np payments. truck was also 5. It rides better and stops just as good as late models.

i completely agree that barrett jackson screwed things up and the problem would be half of what it is without barrett jackson. But, dont forget tooling at the time for mopar reproduction parts was non existent, making it a absolute bitch to find good quality steel to restore these mopars? where as the tooling at GM was sold off, and is still currently providing new panels.
i hate defending Barrett jackson, but would i be able to go out and buy a new 69 camaro unibody, granted there $14,000, if barrett jackson didnt exist? i dont know, all i do know is that this has always been my favorite hobby and its really really expensive.

today i just saw the same top fuel dragster auction off think it was 3 times in scottsdale, granted it was for charity. also saw a cross ram 1969 Z28 sell for $122,000. not that im worried about or would have it differently, but if i wanted a 69 camaro, i would have to build it from the ground up and it would have to be new.
