I have delt with alot of biapolar people, baby mommas mom is, cousin is, old roomate is. All i can tell you is never say never. I have had problems/issues with all of them. I woke up one morning 4 years ago to my old roomate breaking the windows out of his own car and threating anyone who came near him. I knew him for 2 years prior to that and saw him on almsot a daily basis and never expected that. I would tell you more storys about my girls mom and my cousin but those get pretty personal.

I have a good friend who is bi-polar major and won't take his meds because he wouldn't be able to drink. And he is a major alcoholic. When he gets tanked he gets angry to. But to the OP, his parents love him regardless, and they would not be afraid of him. If they felt it neccessary to tell his brother, they would. Just stay out of it.

dogs are like people and have different personalities. I will say that on average chow anything don't tend to back down from much. My old chow/mix wasn't much of a fighter when it came to other dogs/animals. He was very laid back in general but the one I have now would dive ass first into any dog or animal that ventures close enough to him. A hunting buddy of mine brought his mastiff down to camp one year. This mastiff had probably 80 lbs on my dog but my dog jumped on him every chance he got. My dog lost those fights at first but towards the end he had that dog running from him. He just never quit. I figured after he got his ass whipped the first time that he had been put in his place....nope. Next chance he got at that dog he dove right in and kept doing that the whole weekend.

my original post all came to a head the last day or so. I went and talked to his brother the other night. He was aware that his bro was off his medication and had tried to call me to give me a heads up but our home phone has been acting up so he couldn't get through.
Yesterday me and the wife got up to get the kids off to school ( school was cancelled due to snow so I was going to hit the rack for another hour before they got up) when I asked the wife to look out at the neighbors house and sure enough his truck was there at like 6am. A few minutes later he's laying on the horn to get his parents up. They got up I guess and let him in. I got dressed and was getting ready to head over when I see 2 sheriff's cars out front then an ambulance pulled up. I rushed over to make sure he didn't hurt one of them and his parents had called the cops on him and the cops called the squad. They took him to the hospital to get checked out and the hospital released him an hour or two later.
I don't understand why the released him....his mind is shot. I fear he's gonna end up hurting his mom and dad at some point. I know it's not the hospitals job to play policeman or intervene but this guy is mentally not there and is very sick. They should've held him on that principle alone and made him see a psych doctor.

Nothing you can really do at this point but watch out for your family and yourself. This guy sounds like a total space cadet. I'm mean really, what can you do to help the neighbors at all in the event dude goes ape shit and decides to hurt his parents? Watch for the complete obvious, that's all you can do.
Guy needs to go to the padded room for awhile.

yep, not much I can do but I'm going to keep a watch out for his truck over there though. Really nice people next door, they've been pretty good to us since we've been here. I told them to just call me if he shows up and starts causing trouble.

I dated someone who claimed she was bipolar. I just thought she was a dumb as shit alcoholic but this thread has me wondering now.
