Lingenfelter FTMFW!!! $60 cheaper then a Ported LS6, good to about 900hp, and flows more oil.

My ported LS6 pump runs 10-15 PSI higher than the old LS1 pump, so it is stout enough for a modded motor. Not sure about HP rating, but it moves a lot of oil

Is there an issue with the stock oil pumps? Do certain years have problems, or just all LS1 pumps in general?

The stock pumps are fine for stock power levels and you rarely hear of them failing.
Many folks just upgrade the pump during a cam swap since you already have the front of the engine torn down. Cheap and easy prevention.

my gauge bounces at 20 psi att idle when warm from 17 to to 24 psi at idle fine when on the gas is this sound like gauge problem or could the pump do that increase and decrease in pressure

^^^ mine does this too, but it has 140k on the clock. Is this norm press. or low for the mileage???

Is your oil level ok? That sounds very low. Mine runs 45-50 at idle 60-70 under load, granted it is a ported ls6 pump.

If the gage is bouncing you may have a bad OP sending unit.

guage dosent bounce is just sits around 20-25 psi when crusing around 70 on the interstate where I do most of my driving. When its cold it goes to around 40-45 but only till it warms up. The oil level is full when all this happens BTW.

Sounds a little low to me. Bearing clearance issues will also do this so low OP can be hard to diagnose.

Check oil level and ur oil pressure sensor may be out , cause that is way to low
