How good is the engine? You can easily sell it for $2,000. List in it Craigs and LS1Tech. I am sure there is other good parts.

he's not going to get over 15k parting it to stay profitable over just accepting the money...

Your calculations are confusing.
Where does $15k come into play?
Ins. will pay $13,212.61
I can buy it for $2,350.
End result is he is paid $10,862.61 & gets to keep the car?
Then parting out the car, he can recover the $2350, & more.
Or he can put the $10,862.61 into rebuilding it.
Or take the $13,212.61 & buy another f-body & possibly upgrade.
Or take the $10,862.61 & buy another F-body & still possibly upgrade.
And have the old car for back-up & part-out.

he pays $2350 to keep the car, insurance won't pay if you keep it, you pay them. If he gives up the car he will be paid the 13k

Right. They pay me $13,212.61 if I don't keep the car. OR
They pay me $10,862.61 if I do keep it.
So it would cost me $2,350 to keep it. Most of the car is still good. Not sure what kind of damage is underneath.

Even if you could ship, that's a ton of labor plus time for people to actually decide to buy the stuff

Best thing I say to do, is find something like a shipping broker (There is one on this forum, forget his name). They will take you information, and have carrier bid on you auction. It's cheaper then you think. I posted it on LS1tech, I have probably 5 people interested with 3 hours of posting. This was at $2,000 firm.
That's the biggest thing, is your time worth it? Or do you have another project you can put it in...

well, the motor/trans/pcm is worth 3-3500 so where is the question here. The car will part for 4-5k usually.
