WS6 vs 5.0
Me and my buddy have been thinking about racing but havent gotten around to it yet. I have a 2001 WS6 all stock but flowmaster exhaust and K&N.
My friend has a 91 5.0 mustang with valve covers, headers, bored block, exhaust, intake, and cam.
Who would win between us two?
Thanks

gotta figure a stock 5.0 has 210hp stock WS6 has around 320 (at the wheels)...the 5.0 has to make up over 110hp off the bat to strike even POWER-wise...then the weight issue comes into play, type of cam, yea previous post was right, go heads up.

just remember that 5.0 motors are cheap to build and take well to mods.

Yea thats what I was considering when I posted this. I knew that flat out stock I would smoke his ass. But me with Flowmaster and K&N vs his 1000 pound lighter 5.0 and all his mods made me turn my head, but we will see what happens.
Thanks again

WS6's don't put 320 to the ground... sorry...
but in my experience... every damn kid that drives a foxbody stang thinks they are the king of the world... almost as bad as all the ricers...
well not as bad, because at least they have a v8 that they MAY have done their own work on.... around here though, daddy's credit card just sent it to the local speed shop... pisses me off

I put my money on the better driver but the ls1 should have the advantage

As far as 320 to the ground , yes a bit overdone I'm aware, but I have found dyno sheets and articles sayin they get around 310 to the wheels for the WS6, reg T/A is around 290-300....this all goes back to another thread stating how the GM advertised HP/TQ is under-rated for the LS1, you should give it a read sometime, interesting stuff.

Stock 5.0's don't have 210 hp to the wheels. It is more like 175 so it is a little over half of the horsepower of the usual fbody ls1 car. 175 vs 300

who cares wat they had stock. it isn't stock. those things are some of the best cars to race because you never know what you are getting into until it's on, they can be some badd bitches and you'll never know it until he's door to door with you
