oil in intake info

qwkgto, What is up, Yea you can do it on the cheap and I respect that but a good catch can is the I was surprised at what I got out of it. To each his own!

I've seen Husky brand oil/air seperators from Home Depot that work fine.

this is what i had ,that a couple of brass fitting a foot or so of 3/8 trans line and wala put it on and has a pitcock in bottom you can easliy drain fluid out of,and go on to more important things,i had mine hidden under the battery/abs brake crap,wire tied it,worked great $20 saved money for things I really wanted to do to the car.

Catch Can will prevent oil from entering your intake. You have to clean the damage already done...the CC doesn't clean the intake.

Hey Sarge.....question...So it's not abnormal for LS1's to have oil in the intake???? What's the cause of this oil there? Valve Seals? Please educate me on this....thanks.

Good looking out! Wow a long thread but very informative.....and to think I took apart my whole engine due in part to the fact I had oil in the manifold!!!

Yea, like Sarge said a ways back, bought two Husky air and water filters fron HD and hooked them up on my trucks and they are doing a great job only thing I changed is the botton fitting, changed the fitting from plastic to a screw, o-ring, and a nut on the inside because of the heat, works great for $30.00.
