    last night for the eagles game i cooked up some food:

    2.5 lbs of home made meatballs, 1.5 lbs of hot italian sausage. let the meat simmer in the sauce for about 7 hours, tasted amazing.
    **edit: this was before i added more sauce, haha, clearly not enough

    i also made some home made jalepeno poppers (cheddar cream cheese mix) in the deep fryer, but didnt snap any pics

    i buy cans of crushed tomatoes (or in this case i accidentally bought peeled whole tomatoes and crushed them myself with a potato masher) then i let the meat give the flavor to the sauce.

    No spices in those tomatoes? None?

    I've done that. Buying whole instead of cut up or crushed A potato masher seems like a hard way to crush them up Next time pulse them in a blender

    they had keilbasa in them though I did baked beans and stuffing too down there though and none of those had meat in them. I grilled every night for about 9 days straight. We eat very good while we're down there.

    i dont have a blender, hahahaha

    i put a little salt, and some sugar in. the sugar was to cut down on the bitterness of the tomatoes. also, i used some pre minced garlic (came in olive oil) but it was very bitter also and added no garlic flavor. so i added more sugar to cut it down.

    For the Gators game today,

    Crockpot Reuben Dip;

    * 8 oz. cooked corned beef, coarsely chopped
    * 1 cup sauerkraut, rinsed, drained, chopped
    * 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
    * 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
    * 1/2 cup Thousand Island salad dressing

    Preparation:
    Mix all ingredients in 1-1/2 - 3 quart crockpot. Cover crockpot and cook on LOW for 4 hours. Stir to combine and scrape down sides. Dip will hold for 2 hours on LOW. Serve with party rye bread slices, pretzels, pickles, and french bread cubes. Serves 10-12

    Dobie's Stuffed Shells;

    * 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well-drained
    * 1 cup ricotta cheese
    * 1 package (8 ounces) Feta cheese, crumbled, divided
    * 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    * 12 jumbo macaroni shells, cooked, drained
    * 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce

    Preparation:
    Combine well-drained spinach, ricotta cheese about three-quarters of the feta cheese, and garlic powder. Mix to blend well.

    Fill shells with spinach mixture; place in shallow inch baking dish. Pour sauce over shells and top with remaining feta cheese.
    Bake stuffed shells at 350° for 20 minutes. ....

    Let us know how you like it. If it's 'yummo' or not I like corned beef. Never thought to put it in a dip though.

    New ideas are always welcome

    Sounds like they make their own pasta. That's a lot of work. I just buy it and boil it

    for the manicotti they make crepes from scratch. they tried to make their own pasta for the raviolis (they only made them once or twice) and it was too much of a pain in the wass, so they used wonton wrappers, haha
