Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Make sure you take it to a place that mechanically inspects the vehicle, we have some places around here that will only look at the obvious. With a nasty front end collision like that, there can way more damage than what you can see. That'll help bring the total amount of damage up.

Parking on the street always scares me. It's a crap shoot.
Sorry you got nailed. Hopefully the insurance company will come through for you quickly
Um, did that happen on the evening of Friday the 13th?

I think I would start parking way up in my yard!!! Glad they caught them. I doubt seriously they will total it. Maybe a few front suspension parts, new wheel and tire, new fender, and refiberglass the door and some paint and you'll be as good as new. Sorry to hear about this. Makes me glad I park mine 'behind' my house about 40 yards from the road. At least they had insurance! In my opinion, you would be better off keeping it and letting them fix it, than trying to get it totalled. Kelly Blue Book is amazingly low when it comes to the value of our cars, in spite of the fact that they are collectors to us.....

All the shit you just named is going to be several thousands of dollars to repair. His car being a 2000 and a V6 probably is not valued really high.
I had a lady across the street "lightly back into" my 1996 V6 Camaro I park on the street. The body shop wanted $1200 just for that....
I am guessing that the insurance company might total it.

I would think that if the cost is going to be several thousand dollars, that would cost less to the ins. co. than 6 to 8K to total it, don't you?

Last time I checked, a Pontiac Firebird that is almost 10 years old that is a V6 is not worth 8K.....
If someone is willing to buy one for that, you better break their arm off getting the money from them.
The several thousands of dollars would be in probably parts alone, not inclusive of labor, which is where a majority of the money would come in at.
KBB, with basic options lists his car at: Excellent $4,960, Good $4,510, and
Fair $3,985

To you, yes, you are probably right. But any "flaw" the insurance company finds with the car (tear in carpet, dirty carpet, dings, slight scratches, worn tires, uncarriage rust, etc) they ding you for it.
In the eyes of the insurance company, "excellent" means damn near show room condition unfortunately.
This is how they screw people over...
Either way, I hope you get a fair amount for it that will be a good down payment for what you get in its place, if you plan to go that route.
Good luck man.
