what i can tell you its that the car its faster and i dont have the tools or a dyno to check the gains but you can feel it on the 2nd gear real good and also i make 2 more holes in the bumper that means more air.
the holes are in between the Bowtie and the bumper ( the bumper already have this holes)
hope it helps

from what i've always read, ram air isn't really effective until very high speeds.

isn't that damn near the same as cutting out the bottom of the air-intake...aka "the free ram air mod"??

The Bernoulli effect says that as the air passes around the car, pressure at the car's surface is reduced. This means that when the engine is trying to draw air, the lower pressure is resisting the piston's efforts, robbing some measure of power. A forward-facing intake doesn't suffer from this disadvantage.

Okay, I'll give this a try.
1. The towel thing:
A running engine is drawing air into that intake. The air at the front has somewhere to go other than just around the car. A towel stuffed into a still engine gets sucked (technically pushed) out because the still air inside the engine is at a higher pressure than the air flowing around the towel outside.
2. The movement of air and the Bernoulli effect:
Its a pretty simple principle, one that allows airplanes to fly and a carb to flow fuel to the intake. When air flows parallel to a flat surface, the pressure at that surface drops. I remember seeing Bill Nye demonstrate this by suspending two ping-pong balls by a pair of strings from his ceiling. The balls (ok, get your giggles out now) were separated by a short distance. He blew (still giggling?) air between them, and they pulled together. Ever had your ears pop after raising or lowering your windows at high speed?
Now just because the pressure is lower doesn't mean the air isn't there. Lower pressure induced by Bernoulli doesn't effect the radiator because at faster speeds, the radiator is exposed to a proportionately larger overall quantity of oncoming air.
