This.
I want to say on a side note 911 has always been a joke in my book. Ive read so many stories and people have told me things about trying to get some help from 911 and never could. Kinda uneases me.
Please wait (although your life is in danger) so we can connect your call...
I just think they could do it better.
Rip.

QuickSilverMetallic- 2005 GTO M6
Two weeks ago when me and a friend installed the Corsa catback on the Goat, I backed it up on ramps, chocked the front tires, used jackstands and also placed a 3ton jack under the rearend and left pressure on it. Being under a car/truck there is no such thing as overkill when securing it.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
after reading stories like this, how come more people d (DIY car owners) dont buy and install lifts...
you cant say "$2000 is too much money" hold off on the heads and buy/install a lift.
even if your ceiling is low in the garage, just dont lift the car up all the way. its is still easier and safer then working on your back
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...&search=garage lift&Mo=3&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-US&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Sp=S&N=5000043&whse=BC&Dx=m ode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogNa me:BC&Ne=4000000&D=garage lift&Ntt=garage lift&No=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s =1
if your working on cars often, or even just doing scheduled maintenence, its ignorant to not have a lift.

I once used the crappy jack the car comes with to get underneath to open my exhuast cut out. Well as soon as i stuck my hand underneath and about to go further the threads stripped on the jack and the car dropped, luckily my hand was just underneath the car at the time and if it was 2 seconds later my face and chest would've been crushed no doubt with a car that had a 2 inch drop already.

Mystic Teal- 1998 Camaro
One thing I like to do once the car is up on jack, and jack stands (and I've given it a good shake to make sure everything is stable) is to throw the wheels / tires under the car. That way, even if the car does fall it's likely that the wheels will catch it and I'll only suffer a bruised ego. Wheels and rocker panels can be fixed alot faster than my head and chest.
