    tires & H/C effect on 10 bolt

Looking at some 315/35 17 at the rear and a H/C swap with the goal of 400wrhp. Still have 3.23 gear (Auto)
I'm not at the track, just cruising, WOT here and there.

Should I be worried about my 10 bolt?

Would I be better to stick with 275 40 17's all around?

    Thanks

10 bolt is a hit or miss really.

Some have more luck than others.

People have broken them with stock power on stock tires though.

Thats an answer no will could tell you. 10 bolts have destroyed themselves on stock power and street tires. None the less, I think anyone running the stock 10 bolt and decent power with any decent DR tire is on borrowed time. Being an auto will help alittle. Off topic, what size wheel are you using for the 315's? Hopefully not stockers.

I was looking at 17x11 TT II's. I was going to put DOT tires, Nitto has a Extreme summer performance tire, same design just looks like a little more tread.

I'm going for the look more than anything. I might end up with 275/40/17 all around if I think the larger wheels at the back will put more strain on the axle.

The stock 16 inchers are just too small for this car!

Agreed, the 16's dont look the best If I was you, IF, I would take the money from the new wheels fund and dump it into a new rear end. Its up to you, there is nothing in writing saying you cant test the 10 bolt.
