Yea, but you know it doesn't matter how big your motor is. If your fast your fast, racing is about way more than the size of your motor.
Thats like a guy with an 03 cobra talking to a guy with a WS6 and the guy with the WS6 is like "It doesn't matter if your faster, i have a 346 and you have a 281". Don't matter he stills stomps your ass lol.
You gonna say "my unit is bigger though" after you lose a race? haha.

Oh, I am not to up to date on the old school motors...
Yes, I don't really care for F/I. I am more impressed in a well built N/A build... I have always been a fan of the 2nd gens, always loved the style. Same with the C3 Corvette. I pretty much want something I can drive allot, still be different at the car shows and stand out. But be decently quick, really just want it to be a good handling car. From what I read on the LSX Blocks, they are tough block and people who put them in DD had no complaints when building them H/C 600 RWHP DD's.

Forced induction is the mutts nuttz to me. Atleast with a roots style blower. If I was shitting money i'd slap a Weiand 144 or 177 mini blower on a sbc with some and have 500 or so pounds of torque below 3500 rpm. Roots blower= instant torque

I have a 70' olds 455 in my 1979 bird. That thing is definitely a tire shredder. Good thing about having the 403 is that the tranny and all of the accessories will swap over to an olds 455 if you find one.

Yea, I understand that. I say, after buying this car (if I like and go with it). After selling the Falcon, parting parts I or my stepdad does not want from the 98 T/A. Also when I finish the project I am doing for a local company. I should have about $10,000 in the bank in February. I figured that would be a good chunk to start the project. Then on the beginning of the year, I should be starting a day job, so a solid pay check at last. Since the economy being crappy, and trying to keep the little company afloat I started is getting hard. Hard getting word out there, hard getting douche bags to pay the other half at the end of the job. But none the less, I am still glad I took the chance. I know it will take a long time and a nice chunk of money... But it's something I want to do when I have the chance and want to learn. I will be 19 on the 15th, I want to be out on my own by the time I am 23 (Decided to go to school for Computer Engineering, pretty sure I am going for it). So the way I am looking at it, only a few more years I can learn some good skills from my stepdad.
Edit:
I am also looking at it this way, it's cheaper then a Corvette, should beat a Corvette. I can be proud that I wrenched the thing and put my blood on it. Plus at the end of the job, I should be able to do anything to that car mechanically.Last edited by SHines-IT; 10-12-2009 at 07:23 PM.

Other than working on any and everything from bicycles, parents' cars, dirtbikes, and nitro r/c cars my whole life (you learn alot from the r/c cars really, especially tuning) I started working on my last truck at 14 which was august of '07, my freshman year. I can do just about anything but complex body work now. Old cars are simple. so August '07-April or May of '08 (when the last one burned up) and February 24th to now is all the experience I have with my trucks and I can do anything. And I didn't really mess with my last truck all that much until january of '08... It's easy stuff

That's a nice confidence booster, I learned to do just about anything basic, from watch TV programs and going at it. I've repainted an old Bronco, that came out fairly well I might add (Not great, but hey... I was proud of my self). I think allot of it, I can do or learn fairly easy.
